Don't feel bad. He ruined his subs trust. Can only blame himself.
I hope no one ever comes along and shuts down a startup or something you’ve invested so much time and effort into building. But on the other hand, if it ever happens to you, you’d realize how mentally demoralizing it is and how difficult it is to recover from that. And maybe then, you’d think twice before making comments like this.

Anyway, I'm still here and coming back with a bangin' update. I hope you'll be fair when the update is released and we'll see a positive version of these hateful comments. I'm saying this because you don't have a single good comment in my thread. Not even when I was in my prime days.

It is really ironic that someone who has never supported me even once in his life(even when I was releasing regular monthly updates) and is begging here for free as soon as the update comes out is making these comments. You're a funny guy, aren't you?

you don't listen what your subs say

they said no side stories you made side stories
they said make update 2 parts you made it 1000 renders
the first updates were super good but after you went in diffrent direction with nonsense humor updates
its simple give us what we want you get more subs
each update must have content with sophie or other milf ans seconde part with young girl with logic story
take it for an advice because i like this game and i want it to continue in good way

You charged your patrons every single month to support your development only to instead focus on releasing a half-baked PAYABLE version on Steam. You decided that instead of progressing the VN in a meaningful way to instead focus on a Christmas event nobody wanted. You failed to even release it on time and what you released was so bad and a waste of time you didn't even finish it.

You call it a startup. You know what a startup business need to do? deliver product. You have failed to deliver product on time every single time. So no I don't trust you and neither should anyone else. Trust is given, easily lost and hard to earn back. Keep working. Make something of this clusterfuck and DELIVER SOMETHING. Then we'll talk again.

So am I a hater? You bet you ass I am. Your VN was promising. You failed it. and until you deliver a release on time with quality events I'm still not trusting you to pay a dime.

Haven't read such bs in quite some time. Folks being this demanding are ignorant and selfish.

This is just a complete garbage take, even if he delivers what People like to see doesn't necessarily mean he will get more Subs.

each update must have content with sophie
No it does not have to be, his decision is what comes in each Update. Don't like then move on with your life.

I'm typing this not to defend Bytehog but more so Devs in general that have to deal with freeloaders such as you.

When the update comes, you’ll be flooded with positivity.

More fans will come in and express excitement for the future of the game. It’ll feel like you proved the “haters” wrong. And then you’ll roll up your sleeves and start on the next update.

But I worry you’re not seeing the big picture here.

You cannot produce content at a high enough volume to release regular updates. This is shown not just from your history, but by other developers who make very detailed, high-quality renders and display them one-by-one.

To avoid a several-years-plus development time, you have to rethink not just your workflow, but the game structure. Every-time you sit at your computer you should think how can I make this scale?

Here are some ideas:
  • Convert it to a visual novel. Create a main label, call to each of your character story scripts before returning. You can even interweave the sandbox/sleeping events. Without sandbox, you no longer have to worry about populating an entire world with sandbox characters, environments and activities.
  • Decrease variations in shots and poses. If it’s just two people talking, the scene doesn’t have to be super dynamic. Just shoot the same scene with multiple cameras to capture different view points, and splice back and forth between them.
  • Shoot at once all the scenes occurring in a particular location. This is how movie production works. There’s a significant cost in time when you switch between environments and scenes. Grouping these shots by location decreases production time.
  • Use pre-made poses, if you aren’t already. Posing is one of the most time consuming things for a 3D artist. I suppose you could hire an artist to do it, but I assume that like me, you lack the funds to do it.
  • Render characters in canvases and then re-use those renders across multiple scenes. Even AAA developers aren’t creating original assets for every shot — they reuse them. They have entire engines to “copy and paste” them with small variations so players don’t notice the re-use
I hate using this cliche, but work smarter, not harder really applies to us solo developers, otherwise we’ll never finish a project.

Thank you for the advice, I am also aware of these things and you're right with the

But unfortunately I can't do most of these things you mentioned(except the pre-made poses, already using some when it fits). Because all these will reduce the quality of the final product. I don't feel like it. Don't ask me why, I just can't. It just suits me better to work harder to make the highest quality instead of cutting quality. That's for sure makes my work more difficult, but I can't be satisfied otherwise.

Yeah buddy you know what, it looks like I'm just wasting my time. I won't even reply to you at this point.
Good. Back to work. You still haven't released anything in 9 months. Wasting your time replying here will not help you get it out or convinced your detractor like myself that you respect your subscriber enough to work on a quality product released in a decent time.

The only way to shut me up and make me realize the errors of my ways is to release an amazing update then go back to work and release another and another and another. Consistency in quality and productivity is the best way to make me shut the fuck up. I dream of Dev doing that and i have not been afraid to pay them.
