Also, I can't help but notice how you mentioned that's how "most games are." Which means not all correct? Congrats! You just found another that doesn't follow what you just said.

But you know what? Maybe I'm the odd man out. Maybe it's just too much for the average person. To just look at shit beforehand. Instead of coming in to bitch that an incomplete game, that ain't hiding that it's incomplete, because it says it's incomplete.... is incomplete.

Personally, I'm convinced the internet is full of bearded men in their 50s and 60s who traded their time on this (and other similar) forums with a gallon of beer. Although if you think about it, here you can be whoever you want.

Any competent software developer understands Version 1.0 indicates a complete product. That how most games are as well. The only reason a dev would to decide to use another system is to deceive people into thinking their product is more complete then it actually is, and im willing to bet this dev did this to try and get people to sub to his patreon to milk cash.

Once an official release rolls around, you can roll back to 1.0 (though that may cause issues with version control), give the official releases a different tagline, or just keep going to where a version '1.0' is, say, version 10.0.2. Not once have I ever thought of 1.0 as a complete or official release. Any competent player would notice the fact that, despite the version number possibly looking complete, they would read that the game is in a Testbuild. So in reality, instead of being an obscure v1.3.8, it's actually Testbuild (or pre-alpha) v1.3.8!

I'm good enough to get by... this guy is on another level entirely. He's good enough that many of the people who make animated sex games should feel embarrassed by their lack of skill.

This site could also be a bridge between the game and him. I'd rather a dude as good as he is get some payment for all his hard work. Sure, there's not much to this game yet; in the future, who knows? I've found three games on this site that impressed me enough to go and give the actual devs real money... this guy could be the fourth, and I'd rather pay a small dev's Patreon a thousand times before shilling out even one stinking cent to a 'AAA' (allegedly) developer. Small-time devs gotta eat, too.

This is actually of quite good quality for the experience currently available. The fact that you even feel like the person reading this forum would care about your complaints is simply mind boggling. Even if you subbed on patreon for it you certainly didnt pay 60-100 dollars for it. so please keep your complaints to a minimum. feels like you might just be trying to ruin things for others by complaining about stuff that is actively being worked on when we're just over here trying to either bust a nut or experience something fantastical in our hum drum lives. versions dont mean anything. version 1.0 is simply the first released version and not a guarantee of completion. and the game certainly works if you possess the ability to read and enough common sense to actually find out about stuff before downloading it. have a good day.

On the other hand, since the people who play it and then write their impressions on the forum are technically testers (who aren't paid for it either)... Then you could say the outcome is 1:1.

How can I tell if it's sarcasm or not if I have the IQ of a penguin (for example) and I can't read other people's thoughts and emotions? And I wondered if there was an emoji for this sarcasm. A search didn't yield a definitive answer, but it appeared in a lot of places:

From all of these version number discrepancy fiasco, reminds me of something a bit more, let's say, childish-nostalgic one: Minecraft Beta v1.8 vs Minecraft v1.8 which is like many years apart.

This one is no different, the devs are pretty clear that it's Test Build v1.3.8, I see no issue as well.

Well... You can still detect hints of sarcasm from the other person's intonation. But from the text... Skills are probably lacking.
When I was young, there were some unspoken "internet rules" that said if someone wrote a text without emojis, it was a serious text and should be taken seriously. In theory, that's what emojis were created for... So that even a penguin could understand what was going on.

And then, like you said, the mods will delete all the off topic comments because reasons. I get that they want us to discuss random shit in a designated off topic section so games can only have relevant subject matter in the replies, but they don't seem to get that the real magic starts on a specific page with a specific subject. If we were to take our random shit to its designated place, it loses all the shine. Plus... I mean, no updates is no updates. What, they expect us to talk about how there's no updates until there's an update so we can do it all over again immediately after the update? Boooooooring.
