You're going to get a deluge of different answers. Basically, the dev releases a bonus episode after every single release, these bonuses are wildly unpopular even amongst his patreons, and they take an obscene amount of time to create. No one knows the true reason as to why Az does this, though I would bet its a mix of laziness, burnout, poor planning, laziness again, and of course (as much as I hate using this term) "milking".
Officially Az said he makes the meaningless bonus episodes because of burnout, but who really knows. All I know is that I wouldnt have as much of a problem with them if they didn't take an astronomical amount of time to create.

such a weird thing. feels burnout because of writing/rendering for the game...but writes and renders for the game just with random one-off episodes. With all of these random episodes he'd probably be done with the main game by now. Wouldn't have to worry about burnout then, could either relax for a couple months and start a new project or pack it in.

If a developer has a habit of dragging their feet, not meeting their own stated deadlines, and repeatedly making excuses, there should be a tag for that to give folks a heads up.

He's got nearly 1000 paying patrons and the numbers almost never dip below that, despite him being slower than a snail on vacation. So really, why bother working hard when you can just drag things out, and keep milking cashing in?

Bingo, this is what the vast majority of them end up doing. Patreon started out as a donation type platform and morphed into a subscription service provider. Best thing people could do to get some of their money back, file this shit on tax returns as charitable donations with receipts showing for how long. Depending on loopholes within an individual's specific country, it might work.

By law Patreon is not a charity. It is a 'subscription' service, always has been. And it depended on the "creator" and how they ran their Patreon page as to whether it wass a "per service" or "per month" subscription. Though yes, while Patreon no longer allows "per service" subscription plans, a lot of artists and creators who were on Pateon before that change at the end of last year/beginning of this one still have the old subscription model, just any new subscribers can't chose it.

I know, I'm still subbed to a bunch of them and they still only charge per creation (though with a bunch I suspect it's because they simply haven't been back to their page in awhile, TTRPG Patreon creators are even slower than fapgame creators sometimes).

Eh, I still had fun with it. If you're okay with playing a game that is, as of right now, moving at a snails pace, (and even calling it that, might be insulting to snails lmao) Then go for it. Just be aware, you might not see the ending to this before the next like. 27 years or something.

Why the fuck mc snaps after the episode meeting ashley's family. Even on the day after, he wakes her up and being sweet to her and u finnally making some progress then on episode 11 he just treats her tthe same as ep 1. Am not expecting ashley to be all that sweet or even at all but why does mc acting like he gives zero fuck for her its not that he is only mean, it seems that he genuinely dislikes her.
