Because of the bonus scene things he was doing, but yeah, it does feel like a long while now. I hope soon, I want to see the next steps in my adorable Emily's LOVE route.Oh man this dev is taking his sweet time with this update....
Episode 8 was released at the end of March, so that's just over 3 1/2 months, that's not unusual at all. A lot of games take a lot longer and the dev said this will be the biggest update yetOh man this dev is taking his sweet time with this update....
i dunno how 2021-02-24 is end of march for you but ok...Episode 8 was released at the end of March, so that's just over 3 1/2 months, that's not unusual at all. A lot of games take a lot longer and the dev said this will be the biggest update yet
Yeah, I was looking for the release date for everyone, my point still stands.i dunno how 2021-02-24 is end of march for you but ok...
on what planet your point stands so instead of 3 and half months what you said there are actually 4 and a halfYeah, I was looking for the release date for everyone, my point still stands.
Hey folks,
I got a request on Discord to enable the annual membership thingy so I've done so. Annual membership discount is set to 15%. Anyhoo, in lieu of any new ep9 teaser or release date announcement, enjoy Em blowing you a kiss.
Az.
(Note to myself: Better read the posts more carefully... I only saw "enjoy Em blowing you"...)
OMG I love that render of EM ty for sharingSome patreon news and a sweet Em pic from the dev:

while he was quiet for ages, or almost 5 months, he still collected 15.000+$ for his "activity"...Hey all!
I know I've been quiet for ages.
He's not quiet though. He releases progress updates in the form of new renders every week; he released the bonus episode that contains a story and 150 renders, too. I'm not really a fan of his business model or development speed, but he isn't just sitting on it, and communicates well with with his patrons.while he was quiet for ages, or almost 5 months, he still collected 15.000+$ for his "activity"...
i simply can't understand patrons of such devs, but kudos to dev
He really should ask his patrons if those bonus episodes are worth the effort, I'm quite positive the vast majority would prefer that time to go in the development of the actual game.he released the bonus episode that contains a story and 150 renders, too

The other small projects and bonus renders are very relevant if his patrons are happy with them since they are the people funding this project. Az has been on the slow side as far as game developing goes since the start of this project, even before HH blew up on Patreon. I doubt his MO will change. It's not that uncommon anymore either, it seems like more and more devs are releasing updates only 2 to 4 times per year.i quoted him on being quiet.
all other activities than real game progress are irrelevant and we are comming to 2, max 3 updates per year. such way he can extend completing game in period of 3-5 years.
however this dev is not (big) problem - i've been following him from the beginning. it is business model. i can see pattern (including here). devs start with regular updates and when patrons money starts pouring they are pushing updates further and further and extends life spawn of the game to earn more money. so this (i mean in global) siezed to be patroning and turned to be subscription - monthly recurring billing where you don't know when (or will you at all) get new content. all you get are posts, polls, arts, unverified problems, apologies... imagine any other subscription site (porn, netflix, media...) having this policy. how long subscribers would stay on it?
in the end patron system become beneficial to everyone except patrons.
exactly my point. and it is just because of money. if patron system just change billing system (what is not going to happen) in recurring after each update, not monthly, i'm sure there will be more frequent updates (not from everyone, but significant part) what might add more patrons and milkers would be history. It's not that uncommon anymore either, it seems like more and more devs are releasing updates only 2 to 4 times per year.
This system already exists on Patreon (I even had a dev who used this "payment for each update"). But: there is then also the risk that the updates will be split again into smaller ones - and of course you will be charged for each of them...exactly my point. and it is just because of money. if patron system just change billing system (what is not going to happen) in recurring after each update, not monthly, i'm sure there will be more frequent updates (not from everyone, but significant part) what might add more patrons and milkers would be history.
