Thank you to everyone who appreciates the work and hours I’ve put into creating the game. It's never my intention to give false hope or “trick” anyone. As I’ve said before, the delays compared to the promised release schedules are, of course, on me.

As some of you have mentioned, the game is indeed made with love, and the fact that so many of you are eagerly awaiting Episode 2 proves that I’ve managed to create characters and a world in Hardenville that resonate with you.

Game development involves a lot of trial and error, and a lot of re-rendering. Personally, I still believe there's room for improvement in The Prologue and Episode 1, especially in terms of lighting, pacing, and overall progression. That said, the longer development takes, the more pressure I feel to release something before it fully meets my standards.

Episode 1 was originally supposed to be longer, and it launched with a number of grammatical mistakes (which were fixed later). With the release of Episode 2, I’ll make sure not to repeat those errors.

Thank you all again.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, after the release of Episode 2, I'll share a public poll on whether or not we should make some changes starting with Episode 3. For example, introducing BETA versions before the full release. Something like this:

  • Hardenville Episode 3: BETA 1 – Path Emma
  • Hardenville Episode 3: BETA 2 – Path Emma + Path Johanna
  • Hardenville Episode 3: BETA 3 – Path Emma + Path Johanna + Path Millie
  • Hardenville Episode 3: Full Release – Includes translations, etc.

Pros:
Doing it this way might help you feel more consistent progress in a shorter time, keep you engaged if you'd like, and provide reassurance that the project is actively being developed.

Cons:
Some save files might be incompatible during the BETA phase, you might need to start a fresh Episode 3 save for the full release. There will be no translations during BETA releases, and you may encounter bugs or other issues. Also, some renders, plot points, or dialogue may change during this phase.

And for Steam buyers, we could maybe include a password-protected Beta build, separate from the main branch.

Personally, I'm fine with either approach. But if this method provides more reassurance, it could help ease some of the pressure on my end. We'll see how the poll goes once it's live.

Any actual news on a release.. who cares about a public poll on whether or not they should make some changes since there is no update ever

AFAIK it originally was meant to release end of may. That's one hell of a delay with no end in sight lol.

Please show me where the Dev said that version 0.6 should be released approximately on June 2nd and that version 0.9 should be released less than a month later
This is a pirate forum, yes, but also a fun forum and an advertising forum, so let's skip your question to avoid printscreens etc about if the dev promised a release or not ... and if a 30 minutes playtime worths the support received ...based on promises . Also since some of us, probably you also and/or so many fp95 users, heavily supported this project in the beginning ...based on promises

The fact that this is a pirate forum doesn't mean that lies are acceptable, and perdon if I'm a bit old school but I dind't notice anything funny in your rants.

You're the one saying that the dev promissed a release for episode 6 early June and episode 9 end of June. I told you he didn't promissed any of that and now you say have printscreens.
You know that you pick my curiosity and I really really want to see those screens, why don't you show them? It'll take only a few minutes of your time and by doing so you could prove that your not a liar.

It's really funny to see someone trying some smooth talking while it's clear he don't know what he's talking about
JSYK the "so many F95 users who heavily supported this game" never existed.
As you can see on the screen below (I can also use this word but unlike you it is not only rhetorical),

Screenshot 2025-07-08 at 00-07-38 JoyFI Games‘ Hardenville Patreon Earnings Statistics Graphs ...png

at best this dev had 48 patrons... Now compare that to the 29 millions visit on F95 just last month and your final argument just vanished

Strange because in the OP in the Dev notes we all can read this:

I wish I had old versions of Hardenville.... There was clearly dates stated for releases of episode 2, 3, 4 he failed to deliver like 3 times now. 3 delays or maybe more I counted for both Episode 1 and now 2. It was super unrealistic to give such release dates in the first place.

Regardless of who is right and wrong, Dev has been missing release dates lately. The update was scheduled for May, but still haven't been released yet. I bought it early on Steam. His last post about game progress was in May at 84% rendered, but I still haven't heard anything else yet.

Only just random monthly renders.

He needs to be vocal on why been getting delayed, and don't give a false hope release schedule. He needs to put Patreon on vacation mode or pause the subscription. Right now, he's milking what little money currently.

Dewayne is correct that the game originally had a much more aggressive planned update schedule, which has been changed a few times by now. I can, however tell that while you are correct about the current planned release schedule, I'm also certain that the version Dewayne posted is pretty accurate representation of what was planned at one point.

Only real proof that still exists is that screenshot number 3 in the OP still states that Episodes 2 through 9 will be released by late 2026. If that's not enough to convince you, then I can tell you I've done some proofreading work for JoyFi, and Dewayne is 100% correct that the roadmap for update releases has changed since the initial release of the prologue.

Jesus, this turned into a book. Sorry for the long-windedness folks.

Been a long time since I played this one lol! And after seeing there are very little
subs.....unless the Dev is well off, it doesn't look good. Just my Humble opinion.
Hope I'm wrong.....

I hope you're wrong as well.. Me and many other buyers on Steam have high hopes for the continuation of this game after the pretty good start.

Oh trust me....I have a few EA games on steam that haven't been updated for well
over a year. It's why I no longer buy EA games that are AVN's.

tbh I only buy AVN's if I like the game just throw the dev's some money I don't expect them to be completed cause of the nature of EA. 7 days to die took over 10 years I heard lol

Any news on the new version, the one that was initially scheduled for Feb-2024?
Where you been? it was delayed until may 2025 i believe. But in short it delayed nobody when it will come or if. But if you gone back a page you would seen that.
