Looking for suggestions and feedback.
Are there any mechanics you think could be improved in Harem Hotel? I want everything to be as fun and enjoyable as possible, and not like a grind. I find training pretty fun though, some might consider that a grind, but I try to make each training option different enough (and also plan on adding more in the far future, instead of just 4 per training option.)
I would ask for opinions on the story, but I think most of you who would reply are already fans of the story and are interested in seeing where it goes next, otherwise you probably wouldn't be here haha. So I'm assuming I've got that nailed down, generally speaking.
A lot of content in the earlier parts of the game is always being remade, but that is quickly coming to an end. I can only think of a handful of things that need to be remade now, in either better visual quality or writing quality. (Be sure to replay in v0.15 and let me know what you think!)
I also want to add more to do in the earlier parts of the game, stuff that is fun. Maybe Ellen content? Or something else? I know there is a problem of people feeling like there is not much to do earlier in the game, and I really want to fix that. What do you guys think?
Money in the early and mid game is quite tight, especially if you don't rush for Kali's Dad's money and spend it all on the Bar.
Even just buying one elf, which a new player would be very much inclined to do, can set you back a lot.
Maybe a few scenes about that with Ellen and the option to earn additional money. Maybe a side job for the MC since the early game has times where there's not much to do? Not really sure what kind of job would work to be honest.
The money problem affects new players most I think (It certainly affected me when I first played back when the Version number was still single digit) so maybe add a way to force the Player to spend it on the Bar or strongly encourage it.
Again Ellen, since she knows more about the world than the MC, could tell him if he actually wants to make a change he'll need capital and should invest in the hotel first before getting more elves he can't sustain.
The hard version of this would obviously just be a "I don't have enough income to sustain the elves, I should upgrade the Bar and Hotel first" thinking dialogue from the MC when trying to buy an elf.
Sorry this turned into unorganized rambling, I hope it's still somewhat useful feedback.
Oh and one more QOL improvement. When using the stairs to go somewhere have the options always be the same. (Maybe with the one you are at greyed out).
Not sure why but if I'm looking for someone and clicking through the areas quickly I often find myself going from one floor to another but still clicking the option in the menu that would be correct when traveling from the lobby.
Example:
Using the stairs from the lobby is 2nd floor, 1st floor, your room, dungeon.
Using it from the second floor is 1nd floor, lobby, your room, utility room,dungeon.
It's such a slight change in menu items but I still frequently miss click on lobby in the above example. Might just be a problem I have though.
