having been playing adult games since V1 of Teaching Feeling, and using this site since 2018 (first account), i gotta say that Harem Hotel is the best overall adult game released this generation

might not have the graphics of BADIK or the fetish of Light of my Life, but damn, this has got to be the biggest, longest, most dedicated game i've ever seen, seriously

i know it's just porn, but for people that enjoy this culture, this is our current Mona Lisa

I didn't use a save editor. And this is going to sound very odd, and it likely won't work if you've progressed too far in the game. But I took my saved from the v0.18 Beta and put them into a v0.17 game. Then played like a day, saved and moved that new save to the v0.18 game. It's like laundering money, lol, doing this removes whatever Beta tag(s) are present.

Again, this probably won't work if you've gone too far into the v0.18 Beta game content. But since I started my first playthrough in the Beta version I wasn't so far that it became a problem, though I did have to rollback to a somewhat earlier save because I had moved one of the girls story out of the v0.17 content and into the v0.18 Beta stuff.

Oh, when doing anything with the saves, make sure you're careful. Most probably know this but just in case, RenPy is keeping 2 or 3 sets of saves, 1 set in the game folder, 2 sets in the AppData/Roaming/RenPy folder. One in the first folder and another in the sync folder. I just delete the Sync folder and it never does that again, and delete or archive/backup the saves in the top HaremHotel folder.

i also am having this issue.. the game does not even load.. it just pops this... i am guessing its because its 2 different versions of the game and mod... but iirc i have used Lain´s mod on other games with mismatched version and never had problems at all... but i already saw some one post that it happened with them... i am guessing since this is a 12gb game the probabilities of the mod breaking the game is higher than other games... so i would guess just deleting the files from the mod would work... i also need to try this to see if it indeed fixes the game

EDIT: deleting the files from the mod did indeed fixed the issue.. at least it actually opened the game

Save editors are normally a bad idea to use on Harem Hotel save files, because events are triggered by stat levels.
Change any of those stats from 1 to 10, and you will break the game and possibly miss up to 8 events.

Yes, I am aware that events are triggered that way and the related risks.

The fact that beta saves don't work with the official release - in my limited understanding - are not due to the value of a variable but rather to the serialized object having different structure (some missing property and/or some added properties) between the save file and the version one is trying to use them with, so the federalization process fails (or if it succeeds, it will cause a crash once a particular object is accessed and it doesn't have the expected structure).

I was asking for insights about what has to be changed in the save file from 0.18 beta to make it compatible with 0.18 official.

nope. it is kinda like a sandbox, without actually being a sandbox.

Ata stand still with the garden, been waiting over an in-game week. Cleared the land out, didn't buy seeds for it yet (since I guess I don't have that unlocked?) and putting the greenhouse in, but it hasn't reopened.

Guessing I missed something along the way when it comes to Jin.

you have to explore the city until you get the park opened, then visit that until you can buy seeds and tools there. after that plant something in the garden and tend to the crops for a while. am i missing anything?

If you mean getting Jin to move onto the garden, you have to do her events. Honestly, on a brand new save, was prolly the last events that unlocked for me. I was making regular trips to Lin's room trying to "force" things along and eventually it just happened. I'm not sure if her events are on the same timer as the other girls, but there's not much feedback on when to go visit her.
