Have to say that I fully like this direction. One of the first VNs I really got involved in was Katawa Shoujo, and there was always an interesting back story and progression for each of them. A broken girl is a gem in the rough...

To be fair, half elves are generally forbidden anyway. I don't know if runey is referring to a much stronger rule/penalty, but yeah, the humans don't even recognize half elves, they have no rights if they are born, etc. Assholes wouldn't want to breed drow just because their children would be useless, and good people wouldn't want to doom their offspring, so it's just, they take care and abort if necessary. It's not that hard to parse. And obviously, since there are several girls in the hotel with pink/purple eyes, it's safe to say that the taboo isn't thaaat strict.

I love the design (and the glasses), but I'm really not into the drow backstory or disability angle. I would also caution against including a disabled character in a fashion where they're set up to be cared for and fetishized. Even if that isn't your specific intent here, that's probably going to be the perception. That's quite likely to attract a certain amount of antipathy from the disabled community.
Well, nobody from the LGBT community has knocked on my door about Maria. Someone from the discord who also has a problem with his legs was excited about the character.
This girl prefers doing things herself. She's trying to fight fate to walk, even if it is for half an hour. She needs to fight it, along with her medicine's aid. She doesn't like being picked up, but she finds an intimacy in it that she tries her best to ignore. She's already decided against a relationship.
She secretly despises her birth, not because she's disabled, but because she was never given a chance. Someone she never knew decided she would exist when they had sex with a drow. Someone decided to doom a man to 30 years of never seeing or walking before he died. It wasn't unfortunate, it was deliberate. And she doesn't want to do that to her child, so she doesn't want one.

Downloaded and playing this game...and it's awesome!!! Wished Lin was a little more well endowed, but she is beautiful nonetheless. I was instantly hooked seeing her. Kali is just plain awesome, well, not as awesome as Lin, but still awesome. Ashley, Ashley, Ashley...she reminds me quite frankly of a blond Asuna, with all the pluses and minuses that ensues. Android 18...er the Android rocks (betcha can guess what I named her lol). The twins were cool, and Autumn rocks. I enjoyed playing and learning all about the beautiful ladies. Please tell me that Ellen will have an expanded story like the other ladies do.
Then I got to the twins, and their level ten event...and I got fucking pissed off!!! PLEASE tell me we have the option of beating the unholy shit out of their worthless piece of crap that just happens to be their sperm donor they call a father!!! ANYONE who abuses a child or an animal, especially a little girl or a cat respectively deserves to be castrated with a dull, rusty, salt encrusted knife and then stitched up with barbed wire.
Then I got to the twins, and their level ten event...and I got fucking pissed off!!! I think there's a line that can easily be crossed, but that because a line exists doesn't mean you shouldn't make the attempt. No representation is not good either. Fetish content isn't great, but at least it's not overall negative representation. I feel like developers like Runey can potentially help to alleviate a taboo where there shouldn't be one. Disabled girls need love too.

Totally cool. It was more of a heads-up since it sounded like she was going to be largely defined by her disability. This is a tricky area where there are a lot of complicated feelings.
