It's shocking that slavery is offensive i know. I have routes that trace back to slavery as well, it's however irrelevant to the argument i was making, as it's irrelevant to all the points you are missing as well.

If your issue is that you feel MC was backed into a corner and was forced to fuck Lin in front of them, then a "Diplomacy" option could possibly be available.

Will the end result still be being forced to do that? Because the issue is that I want nothing to do with him. I want to walk away, like you used to be able to do.

the game sort of does tell you he is SOMEONE OF IMPORTANCE, that is normally a clue on how one should proceed... especially if you want to punch him in the face...
real life has very powerful people who can basically walk all over [people like you and i] and there isn't shyte you can do about it unless you too happen to be really powerful and have a bank account with a lot of Zeros to the left of the decimal point.

So fucking what? People also get raped and murdered in real life, would you be OK with that happening to the MC on that basis? Games are supposed to be fun, and being bullied by a rich asshole is one of the least fun things I can think of. "How I want to proceed" is extricating myself from the situation and staying as far away from him as possible. Not letting him and several of his friends into my home.

The MC has shown the guy in charge of all Elf slavery that loving them is just as good a way, if not better, of "training" them than dehumanising them is.

And even if that is true, I don't see how it is a good thing. In the letter he sends to you, he talks about "your training method", which to me suggests that if you "win" his game he's going to promote pretending to love your elf to manipulate them into doing what you want. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see initiating the mass emotional abuse and gaslighting of elves as being a good thing. That letter should have gone straight in the trash.

Without that narrative going on the game doesn't have a goal. It can be argued that the girls individual stories are a goan and in the short term that's true but the entire setting needs something to push a narrative and in this case it's what happens to the Elves at the end of the game.

Why? Why does it need an extraneous story to distract from your relationships with the girls? I hate it when games do that just to try and be "deep". What's wrong with the overarching story being about the MC, the hotel, and the little family he is starting with the girls? You know, like it used to be before all this crap started.

I, for one, want Runey to continue developing this surprisingly engrossing plot and I would be disappointed if he was dissuaded from finishing his story because some of us can't separate a fictional "hero's arc" from real-world problems.

Wikis are very time consuming. I don't think it would be very possible for one person to do a wiki alone. Those are more community driven. But I would love to see a wiki!

If you want to play a game where everyone and everything is perfect, that's great. But I love broken girls, and I love fixing them. If girls have flaws, they're more realistic and you can become more emotionally invested in them.

I also like slaves and obedience as a fetish, I like small breasts and short girls as well. That's why Lin is the way she is. She's always wanted to be better. She tried hard at becoming a cook, did great at teaching Android everything she needed to do. She adores your praise as an SO and Master. If you hate something about a character, don't play the character. She hasn't changed, she just matured.

Training is also something I love. Being responsible for the growth of a character is something that will always be in this game. A huge part about Lin's story is training her both sexually and in other ways. What's the point in training if you never test your skills?

This event is meant to show how corrupt the world is. The reason Elves are still slaves is because of people like Cornwall and his friends. Before this, you were never shown how bad the world was, you were just told. It's not good writing if you aren't shown it.

I actually cried like a water fountain the first time i watched Schindler's List.

Hell when i was a kid and i watched the Never Ending story for the first time i cried when the freaking horse sank in the mud and that whole thing was complete fantasy. It's perfectly fine and even a healthy thing to get emotional over such scenes, as you said if some scenes that are meant to be devastating have no effect on you then you just might be a psychopath.

Just want to add to this that desensitization is a thing regarding movies. It's possible to watch something in a movie and not feel a thing and see it in real life and have reactions. Myself for an example used to not bat an eye regarding bloody scenes and gore on TV and movies and ever since I saw someone get run over by a car that's no longer the case. Not reacting to a movie emotionally does not make a person a psychopath.

I was replying to a guy whose response to criticism of the game was basically "well I like it, so it's fine". His opinion not being more valid than those who don't like that aspect of the game is exactly what my point was.

Lin's been a slave since her first appearance, don't act like it's only just appeared.

There's a pretty big difference between her backstory being that she's a slave and making her story about slavery in the world. Is Ashley's story going to be about child abuse? Not her abusive past, but child abuse in general? I'm not going to apologise for thinking Lin's story should be about Lin. Not that I object to bringing in the other elves that is, just how it's done.

The competition is one of the things I want to walk away from. I still haven't seen a good explanation of why it has to happen. I think that's the biggest issue that we should be talking about. The rest I feel there's a worthwhile discussion to be had, but it's all secondary to this.

Sure, but i am gonna say if someone has ever watched any movie/series and never had an emotional reaction to any of the more tragic/emotional scenes, than yea that person should definitely seek some advice, let's just say that.

The reason why the competition has to occur is because it's a pivotol turning point for the way Elves are treated going forward as has been said about 100 times by Runey in this thread.

At this point it feels like you're just complaining because the scenario isn't to your liking and you already know what your response should be. Either stop playing the scenario or stop playing the game. It's not going to change and neither is the explanation for why this happens.

Additionally, if you actually cared about why Lin willingly participates in this it's because she doesn't want to be taken away from the person she loves as Cornwall has that authority.

The cumpetition is the most important event in the game. You show the ones in power (Cornwell and his pals) that being good to elves is better than being mean to them, which is a pretty big deal. Without that event you wouldn't have met Ann, Nia or Sylvia and that would mean you couldn't have purchased them (aka saved them) and whatever else that happens with them wouldn't happen. Nia seems to be some sort of elf-saving ninja, she couldn't be a elf-saving ninja if she was still with her old owner.

Frankly, I was more put off by the seeming inconsistencies in the world history in last update than any depiction of yoke of slavery.

Lin tells us (via Kali) that a helpful slaver informed her of her rights when she was captured 250+ years ago. Last update the new slaves told us that slaves had no rights prior to Cornwall taking over. It would be more internally consistent if Cornwall (or society in general if fingers aren't going to be pointed) were stripping the traditional rights as quickly as they could persuade the human public the new course was acceptable.

I assume the narrative is going to flow in a different direction that requires Cornwall to be a somewhat nice man as opposed to an asshole.
