I don't think that this issue is new, even if you never saw this.
I think most delete the old files after playing the game completely. With a new version comes out, they 'install' it again.
Most do also not know much about Software and how it is made, they just use a the software. That a file got removed or renamed and is not working anymore and may produce errors is something not everyone can know.
In the moment in the first thread is no instruction how to install the game and most instructions I saw are not telling to use a fresh folder. And not everyone has a certificate in Google-Fu getting the information they need.
Because many people have a special fetish which make them to tell others in forums how dumb they are. They need obviously fun, too. For every 'dumb' question, there several unnecessary answers and sometimes unnecessary insulting answers, too. It would be more helpful to put the answer in the first post if there are any F.A.Q.

Ah yes Forum "bimbofication", almost as deprived as hand-holding.
The issue in this error report is "Defined twice" which is why I originally thought the scripts were merged. I don't know how they got that way if it wasn't merged.

The problem with making something idiot proof is they go an make a better idiot!
I'm still very slowly looking for any kind of bugs at all so I'm gonna have to download this lol. Ugh it takes me 8 hours.
edit: so I just found the 7.2 patch. Which is a life saver. I did see that some people merged the full 7.2 download into previous version and got errors. Can i merge 7.2 patch without issues?

OK, so I loaded your save, woke up with Lin, went to the 1st floor, talked with Kali who asked me to check for a package, went downstairs and collected it from the mail, walked back up to Kali, and handed it to her.
Perhaps at one point, you reloaded a save from just before talking to Kali and didn't notice?
