11gb, god damn, this game has really gotten bigger since last i played. is there no compressed version?

There is.
But since that 11gb download is already compressed down from the games over 100gb size, the image quality begins to suffer badly with further compression.

And, it is also compressed....
It is actually, in its uncompressed state a much larger game.
Modern hardware is able to decompress the compressed component files on the fly during game play.
And also during the loading time at various stages of the game.

Yeah, the game is huge. I'm grateful that I got in before it went over 10GB, and now I just make sure to get the update file when its available for the new release.

And how much of that 14gb is compressed audio? Default vanilla textures weren't ever super stellar in the game and when they did the special edition they just upscaled them, so not much changed quality wise. While I'm sure there's a solid amount of textures there plus the models, I'm willing to bet a good junk of the size is in the audio.
The Search button is your friend.
Go to your account, then go to "preferences", then set your search preferences as "most recent".
Next, perform a search. I ran a search using the words "Maria" and "30". That'll quickly show you that Slazies encountered that very same problem. Both TheDevian and torresm provided solutions.
You have to remember that Skyrim does not have to make new images every time you go back to a location, it reuses the same stuff. This game has to make a new picture for every frame, so it's not really a fair comparison.

I doubt a renpy game will ever get as big as my skyrim!.
Unless i was running runeys uncompressed version of HH... Maybe?.
I mean how big is HH as an uncompressed renpy folder?.
Excluding the honey select and mods he needs to make the game.
Because I'm pretty sure when he said his folder was 90ish Gb,
He meant the folder that has all that in it to make HH and anything else for HH he was working on.

But yeah, this game, uncompressed, before he converts the pngs to webps is over 100gig. I am sure his HS folder is a lot bigger.
I have only the base mods for HS and my folder is 243 gig, where as Runey has a ton of custom stuff (I know, I made a lot of it). As an example, my Daz library folder is almost 2.5tb.

Wiped all of my saves and started over from scratch. Enjoyed the new intro, but holy fuck I had forgotten how much the hotel floor labels irked me. The ground floor is the first floor, but here you go up the stairs from the lobby to the first floor, and it low-key kinda drives me nuts.

EDIT: after missing offtopic.
Most of Harem hotel data is in 1080p image files. All those costumes and image loop animations add up and game has some space wasters like empty Kali's room or raw png images used in scenes.

To be fair, I was talking about Skyrim's file structure / compression, not HH. I'd prolly still lose the bet since I only vaguely know the average texture size and can only napkin math it, zero idea how much audio is in Skyrim

It's a British/Europe vs. US thing, whether there's a "ground floor" or just floor 1.
My layout issue is the fact that all three levels (visually) only have a single up stair...
Or how many unnecessary clicks it takes to go to/from the Sanctuary or Hot Springs/Garden

If Runey keeps up the quality of his content as high as he always has he's perfectly welcome to this entire SSD. I love this game, I loved it when it was much smaller, and I think that everything thats been added is pure bonus! I'm currently about halfway through my 4th annual play, and I'm inclined to gush. I expected new content, but I never expected this level of plot and character developement from this genre. IMO this game is the No Man's Sky of "door knocker" fap games, just engoodened every which way.

Ironically enough, if I remember correctly, the vast majority of Skyrim's install footprint is bespoke audio. Much in the same way HH required unique screenshots for every event that quickly balloons the footprint, likewise Skyrim's biggest source of unique assets that cannot just be copy-pasted all throughout the world (like rocks and trees) is the hours upon hours of dialogue audio.To be fair, I was talking about Skyrim's file structure / compression, not HH.
