Runey, let's be honest. The porn part of Harem Hotel is what draws people in, but it's the story, characters, and pretty much everything else that keeps us coming back every time there's an update. At this point, I don't think that Harem Hotel is a porn game, but rather a game with porn in it. None of this is a bad thing, just to be clear. I freaking love the game, and I am patiently (but excitedly) waiting for the next update. Which makes the garden game seems kinda strange to me IMO. I guess we'll see what it adds to the story but right now it seems really out of place.

Now that a new beta is released (not including the previous beta releases you ignored) and Runey's posting in the thread again, including showing off major additions to the game (the garden that's been in the works for a while), you've pivoted into a more generalist "dev criticism" stance.
Everyone else has known the update will come out whenever it's out. We've know that the entire time. It's a publicly released game, after all.
At this point you're just venting while you very impatiently wait for your favorite game (see the top half of this comment) to be released.

You're more than welcome to ask questions. The Garden will be an early source of active income, then become passive income once Jin is taken off drugs. Jin's story is tied to the garden as it gives a recovering drug addict a hobby. Some crops are planned to be consumable, such as a lust plant that increases lust to whoever you give it to, but this may be something I release in v0.19 due to it already going beyond the original scope of the garden. I've had these stories in mind for years but could not develop them due to the freelancer spending years developing and redeveloping the code. So because everything is now available to me, I've doubled Jin's story content! However it's still very buggy and doesn't work as intended yet, so we're working overtime together to get it done
I want to focus on making story content since it's what I enjoy doing most, so I pay freelancers in my community to help with things I cannot do, such as coding the computer and a making new 3D models such a plants and jewelry. Saves me as lot of time to focus on story.

Very little from my perspective. The story revolves around the hotel mostly and there's a good mix of story focused on the hotel as well as external areas.
Hi, I'm planning to replay the game since it's been a while since the last time I played (0.13? 0.14? not sure). Seeing how there's a decent amount of story being remade each update, is it still happening for the 0.18 update? I'm just wondering whether I should replay it now or just wait for the 0.18 update since it's probably right around the corner (given there's already a beta on patreon).

From what Runey is showing us about there are some new mechanics can slip in at any point in the game's run. I don't think it will really matter much if you start now and update later or wait for the update. Most people will be working from their 0.17 saves.

Yes, there are some remade events according to Runey, but we don't know which ones and how early they are.
I also don't know how close that corner is, there's been some talk about a July release but he has neither confirmed nor denied it.

Personally, I would wait for the update to drop before starting from the beginning, if nothing else, just so that hopefully the couple of nasty bugs get fixed, though we do have workarounds here.
