Just rebooted and this is still a thing. I think something else is going on here. I was able to use sudo killall coreaudiod with more success, but the game still won't start without the same error. I've decided to start it from the latest RenPy SDK instead.

Have you tried updating your audio device driver?
It can't start the audio, so that would be the first place to start.

anyone got an uncorrupted save file so i can play from the last update getting an error that says the affection levels of the girls are too high so i wont be able to see the new content

There are two routes in Harem Hotel.
Locked content likely is part of the route that you did not choose.
Keep in mind that, long term, the love route will likely give you the better result when Harem Hotel reaches the end.

I am guessing Jin's new events. But I haven't played them yet, so I can't say.
