I currently have 8.1 and have bern playing quite a bit. I'm wondering how is the best way to update to 8.2? do I download and extract to the same folder as 8.1? do I just download the 8.2 patch? and if so, where do I extract it to. I dont want to lose my saves.thanks for any help as im new to this
You can download the patch and put that in the 8.1 folder; otherwise, you can download the 8.2 version which is the full version of the game, and your saves should be okay.

Can't say for sure, all I know is I used Lains walkthrough mod, and it would say do stuff then be several days of trying to do the same thing before it triggered.
I finally updated to v0.8.2 and I have to say that I really enjoy the new opening when you start the game. Since I seem to be one of the few people around here who plays the game with the sound on, I was wondering if it would be possible to add music to it. I'm not sure the default music would work so maybe there could be something else used?

Having sound before the options menu means that it could be REALLY LOUD to anyone who has not yet adjusted the volume for the game yet. Any game that has sound before I can access the volume controls is very likely to get added to my never touch again pile. I don't like it when a game wakes my roommates or alerts my neighbors that I am starting a porn game by having some woman say that this is only for adults so loudly that they can her through my walls like one game I won't mention!

So you're suggesting that a feature should not be added due to your current volume settings? What person starts up an adult game without their speakers muted or their headphones plugged in? Ahaha, dude, that's a B.K.A.C problem- Between Keyboard And Chair. Cheers mate.
I feel you on that, I keep my headphones plugged in at all times when on my laptop so it's no longer a problem for me.

Me, typically when playing a game I will have music or a video on in the background, I mute the game not the speakers.
I don't mute Harem Hotel I like the background tracks but still I understand thedevians point about audio at the start of a game, just listen to what plays when you load twosides.
I have disabilities, I can't really wear headphones and I have to always have music (or something) playing or the ringing in my ears will make me want to blow my head off. I adjust the volume of each program individually (always have, because things like movies are too low otherwise), and I cannot do that, until AFTER the program starts. I do like sound in a game, but only after it can be adjusted to acceptable levels. This is made even worse when games go fullscreen, so you can't even reach the systray without tabbing out.
What I've been doing is launching Volume Mixer, then launching the game, Alt Tabbing to Volume Mixer, then set the volume low. Doing it this way, sound wont even have a chance to start before you can change it's volume.
It may require fast reaction times, but my ears have been safe ever since.
Also, HH already has music that starts when you launch the game. With the new splash screen, you'll have far more time to switch to the volume mixer using the method above. I've also added more tracks to some events in v0.8.2

There is pretty much one constant that tends to be always open on my desktop and that would be windows volume mixer.

It would probably be a good idea to set the default volume level to 50% rather than 100%, that would help somewhat.
