Since it's a sensitive time for the author, I won't talk about criticism. However you can only be disappointed by the things you actually put some faith on. Most porn games are generic garbage. Harem Hotel was not, it was one of the few which actually made me actually invested in its world, even though lately I lost interest in it.
I can understand someone losing interest in a story over time.
The clues for where Harem Hotel was going have been there for a long time, but anyone who had not played the releases as they came out could have missed some of those clues until the story was well under way.
They could easily have missed some of the clues, if they focused a bit too much on completing events, rather than think about what they were reading.
Runey being a dev who builds up the characters personalities had spent a lot of time on mainly doing that, but along the way the clues appeared in the story.
Elven slavery was bad, was often mentioned.
The government was corrupt, was often mentioned.
The church was corrupt, was often mentioned.
The androids had huge potential, and also were being mistreated, was often mentioned .
There were also traits that the characters showed.
Nia of course had knowledge about the underground, and fighting.
Autumn is our eyes into the corruption of the church, and with her families high standing in the church, she can see and learn things that outsiders would never see.
Our loveable android baby maker (literally) is sentient, which shows the potential of what the other androids could be, and her story shows the cruelty in the world, not just to the androids, but to the elves as well.
Kali is our eyes into the government, through the contacts that her family has, and she is also perfectly placed to be able to assist the android in her quest to improve the lives of other androids, and also to help the elves.
Maria, is the one with the skills and qualities to be a spy, and get close to powerful people to get pillow talk intel from them.
Lin, has demonstrated, in just the last release, that she has what it takes to be a leader, and to fight for what she believes in. (She has already gained Sylvia as a follower, and Sylvia would not have been someone that we could have expected to follow someone else easily.)
Sylvia has knowledge of mining the crystals, and their use, as well as knowledge of the elven island country that could all prove useful.
Ashley has knowledge of the criminal underworld, and knows the streets where they can be found, and people who can pass on knowledge about what is going on.
It's believed at this point, that the twins own father is a powerful figure in the underworld, and that knowledge might be useful later.
Many of the side characters also have skills and traits, or contacts that could also be useful later.
Without even trying, the people who have what it takes to do it all, have slowly been coming together.
All of that points towards overthrowing the government, the church, freeing the slaves and helping the androids to evolve and be free...
