Sorry, I can't help it. I struggle to understand the problem people have with sandboxes, they are the best, even if there are some poorly made ones, there are poorly made games in every genre.

I neither dislike or really like sandbox. If a game is of good quality then I don't mind if it is a sandbox type game. And if a game is lacking quality then it doesn't matter if it is or not a sandbox type game.
Same with all the "This game is RPGM, I won't play". It doesn't really matter. A game suck because of poor quality and not of the type of game engine its use. Sure, some game engines need more recourse than other and thus some not powerful enough PCs may struggle, but that is another topic.
I like being able to go where I want, headpat who I want, when I want... XD
My biggest issue with RPGM is annoying map design (tight mazes). lol
But yeah, it's all about freedom for me. XD
If I want to work on the story, I can. If I want to just have fun with someone, I can. If I want to just mess around, I can. Options.
Oh! I am also using the built-in archive manager of Ubuntu and have never had any problems with ZIP files, including with the known problematic archives I tested. (But it often chokes on RAR files, in which the commandline unrar has always worked so far.) My regular PC is dead, or I would now check the archive that you reported broken. Maybe I can do it later this week.

yea, I would say Lin is suffering from PTHPD post-traumatic head pat disorder = acute moistness too, the moisture might have affected the game.

In visual novel world sandbox just means more clicks and waiting for the same stuff. Generally a waste of both player and dev time
I strongly disagree. It's what I play most, what I prefer to work on, and really the only ones that even qualify as a 'game'.
It is the freedom to do what stories you want, what characters you want, and also usually includes repeatable sex stuff. No need for a gallery, no need to find the right save to go back and watch your favorite scenes, just go do it again. You feel like you are actually part of the world, not just watching/reading.
What if I love a character and want to visit them more? What if I dislike one of them and don't want to deal with them (or in some cases even see them naked)? What if I am not in the mood to deal with story, I just want to have fun with someone? The idea of a sandbox is to create an interactable world, not just tell a story.
To me, the worst tag on the site is 'kinetic novel', that isn't even a game, I can't play them. There is nothing you can repeat, nothing you can skip if you don't like it, nothing to do but hold ctrl until you see a boob, it's just not worth it. Absolutely the most boring shit in the world. If I just wanted to watch porn or read a book, I would do that, and not have to keep clicking space for no reason. Just let it play in the background and ignore it like all other shows or movies I end up "watching". It's too boring for words. If it is not interactive, I have less than no interest. I would rather work, at least that feels productive.
I want to actually play games, not just just sit and read. I want to feel like I am part of the story, like I am in the world, doing things and making a difference, rather than someone on the outside looking in.

There are a couple of small things, here and there, thanks to some of the remakes and new code, but mostly it's fine (as long as you don't use the mod or anything). Haven't run into any issues in a long time myself, other than a garden one that I think got fixed, but I just hit ignore and it was fine.

Sry, I went to bed. Honestly, I don't think this is something you can fix xD, but I'm just not a fan of the UI and how to get around.. At this point i was done. But im glad alot can enjoy it.

# **Character Chronicles - Floor 1** #
Hello everyone! I thought I would share a bit about how the characters have grown over the years, and their roles in the story, and how the surprises along the way have changed them. (Yes, even I can be surprised by how the characters grow!)
## **Lin:** ##
**__Personality__**: Lin begins as submissive and (breedable) obedient. "The perfect elf" in terms of how Syl'anar sees elves. Innocent too, and not really being able to keep up with human advancements. As her story progresses, you start to see her develop a spine, especially in v0.19 and so on. She's not very submissive or obedient towards humanity as a whole. (She still loves the player of course, that won't change.) Now you begin to see Lin standing up for herself and elves as a whole. Something she wouldn't be able to do without the freedom and equality the player provides to her.
**__Her role__**: The idea here has been to turn someone who is fully subjugated into the system, from this innocent naïve maid, into a genuine threat. Not physically of course, but as an icon. She's pure of heart, and a sign for hope. In a world without much hope, this naturally brings people to her side. It's hard not to want to protect her or her ideals.
## **Kali:** ##
**__Personality__**: Kali's story begins with her having unmet potential due to her laziness. She was raised with all of her needs met, and then some. She never had a cause or care for anything, other than food and games. But this changes as the story goes on. She begins to see how the world will treat her differently to those around her due to the nepotism afforded to her by her father. She doesn't feel like she deserves any of it, and rightfully so, because until she moves into the hotel, she hasn't worked for anything in her life. This begins to change a lot in the latest chapters as you see her take on more important roles that could change the course of the world.
**__Her role__**: Kali is untapped potential wrapped in nihilism. Something I think a lot of people can consciously or unconsciously relate to. This world is fucked, but she does have the ability to do something about it if she wanted to. Anything from planting a tree that will outlive her, to changing the course of history from being in the right place at the right time, or just being lucky. Kali shows that all it takes is action from the right people to make a good difference, if only she got off her lazy ass.
## **Ashley:** ##
**__Personality__**: Ashley begins as someone who wants to be desperately accepted by the world. Being rejected by her own family and friends has left a deep psychological wound. In an attempt to rectify this, she decided to bury her personality behind a mask she believed would be more accepted. It wasn't until she met the player that she finally felt like she could be herself. And her true self... well it's not someone you want to be enemies with. She's very protective of the people she loves, and is more likely than anyone else in the cast to sacrifice her own life for others, or commit heinous war crimes in order to protect them. Growing up part elvish and extremely impoverished, she has always had a soft spot for elves and their struggles.
**__Her role__**: To put it simply, mama bear. Fuck with her or anyone she loves, and she will hunt you down. Behind the cutesy veneer is someone who will do anything to keep those around her happy, laws be damned. She has a deep sensitivity to mental health as well. Ashley has been through it all, she knows that mental wounds can often hurt more than physical ones, and is the driving force behind her personality.
## **Maria:** ##
**__Personality__**: Maria is the socialite who seems to know it all, but behind her people pleasing ways is a person who has been abandoned and felt the need to show the world that she's worthy. Her self worth has been tied to her usefulness, and that has made her dangerously easy to exploit in the past. She's had horrible relationship after horrible relationship in the simple attempt of trying to be loved, just for once. It isn't until she realizes the love between her and the player is real that she begins to blossom into the kick-ass woman she was always meant to be.
**__Her role__**: Maria is a survivor in a world that doesn't reward vulnerability. She adapts, hustles, and does what she has to in order to survive, and hopefully some day, thrive. Her story isn't about becoming someone new, it's about realizing she's allowed to be soft, strong and sexy all at the same time, and without the compromise of selling herself or her ideals. In a world like Syl'anar, and especially for a half-elf, this realization is radical. She wasn't supposed to get this far in life, but she has, and this will undoubtedly make a lot of people angry.
Thank you all for joining me on this deep dive into the characters who call the first floor home! This is only a synopsis, as these characters are much more complex than what can fit into a single paragraph, but I would say these are my main motivations when writing for these characters.
