Obedience and friendship are two different stats, so that seems rather odd for that to happen. Were you speaking to Kali at night when you tried to raise Lin's friendship at night? Wondering if you were "between" two events, so when you tried in the afternoon a different one triggered.I know that. Here is an example of what I ran into: I use the * Talk * option on Kali but am told I have to raise my friendship with Lin but when I go to her in the evening there is no * Talk * for Lin but I go to the kitchen the next day to raise obedience some event plays. I click on Kali's door and now selecting * Talk * allows me to progress the story.
If I were to make it that realistic, the game would no longer be as fun. These women do other mundane things all the time that you don't see. But morning showers is a mechanic more than it is a lifestyle roleplay thing. It both temporarily locks them away from content and is usually in the morning, so you know when you can expect those sex scenes. Same thing with the hot springs. The main characters already have enough time slots locked away where story or other content can't be done and I don't want to increase that, so that's kept to dates and such. Side characters are already showing up often in the hot springs now though, and more will join. Kate most definitely. The hot springs also acts as a way to attract side characters to the hotel.Actually, this is another perpetual failure of sandbox games, and one HH doesn't avoid: unused locations. The laundry room probably shouldn't even exist, given how rarely it's relevant. But the shower, the hot springs, the garden, the bar, even Ellen's room: all ripe for content, all so terribly underutilized. The idea that about 90% of the time I check on the hot springs there's nothing happening is baffling. I don't necessarily mean from a game standpoint, I mean from a "what if this was real?" standpoint. People would be in the hot springs or the garden all the time. People shower at all hours of the day. Bars aren't just nighttime venues. Put someone there and give them dialogue. Later, when the stats are sufficient, give them events. It'll take a while, but it would make the in-game world so much richer.
You turned off the monitor. Right click again to turn it on.Accidentally right-clicked while trying (and failing) to click on the Human Kit for Android and got this:

Can't click away or rollback, and nothing but quitting works. (MacOS, if that helps.)
Oh good, it looks like everything is working then. The game was asking you to raise Lin's friendship, and you did. Not all events are * Talk * options.I know that. Here is an example of what I ran into: I use the * Talk * option on Kali but am told I have to raise my friendship with Lin but when I go to her in the evening there is no * Talk * for Lin but I go to the kitchen the next day to raise obedience some event plays. Does Android appear in this event when she shouldn't?The one Kali and her friends are building. Supposedly at this time the android had locked herself in her room and you have to wait until the little dog robot shows up and stick your foot in before the door is closed.
I believe there was a point in the story where he tried before and it didn't work, so he knows Android can overwrite anything she wants to.But he doesn't use it for the android's room when she locks herself in and get so quite he isn't sure she is even in there.
Didn't work. You turned off the monitor. Right click again to turn it on.
While not exactly what you're asking for, we do have a wiki that has the continent on it. It's not a great one though and definitely needs more detail.Something I asked about a few patches ago that got lost in the hype for the patch, is there a chance we could get a map of the continent in-game?
With the story developing into something grand beyond the walls of the Hotel, with constant references to other places and even the occasional travel I often get overwhelmed trying to remember where what place was.
My suggestion would be adding it into the pause menu, the same way the Gallery brings up the images of the scenes you could have a page with the map of the Continent and a World map or something like that. That way it is accessible at all times, not just when "walking around" like the stats menu.
Can I ask why you view that as a positive? That, for example, Android isn't available until evening pretty much every day is a thing I acknowledge, but why is that a good thing? How does that make the game more fun, using your wording? This isn't a criticism; I'm seriously just asking. The main characters already have enough time slots locked away where story or other content can't be done and I don't want to increase that
I do feel that the bar is a vessel you've not yet populated, so I'm looking forward to all of this. But the bar can also be another place for side characters to come! Vanessa, Kim, Nala, Ami, Kate, Hana
She is available in the morning and evenings, just not at noon. Can I ask why you view that as a positive? Unless she's showering or in the lobby or in the vestibule, but yes. Plus, no time slot's more taken up by timed events than the morning, so in effect Android's still very often only available in the evening. She is available in the morning and evenings, just not at noon.
The good thing is that is helps encourage people to not focus on one girl at a time.
Fine, and I'm not saying they shouldn't be unlocked. I'm suggesting they should be populated. If Maria's in the garden she's not available for a story-advancing event. The same as if she's in the lobby. The same as if Ashley's at school. The main characters already have enough time slots locked away
How about a small clickable map on the wall in the lobby (it *is* technically a hotel, after all) that pulls up a bigger map image overlaying the main screen similar to how the Info button overlays? While not exactly what you're asking for, we do have a wiki that has the continent on it. It's hard to think of many good places to put a map like this in game though. Maybe as the wallpaper?
Yeah, but that is the same for everyone.Unless she's showering or in the lobby or in the vestibule, but yes. Plus, no time slot's more taken up by timed events than the morning, so in effect Android's still very often only available in the evening.
I think the way everyone's content is ultimately cross-gated is a more than effective way to force players to spread the love around. I'm not sure the existence of a second mechanism is necessary.
Alright, but I've never objected to that element of this particular game. I'm simply speculating about a game in which someone was available to do something, somewhere, in every particular time slot. HH actually makes that possible once you've moved the plot along, which is one of its many qualities, but it could be expanded into locations that are currently (mostly) unused. That's all I was suggesting. You would be surprised how often people come in here asking about why they can't advance someone, only to find out that it was because they were ignoring someone else, and there really are not that many of those overlaps. He generally keeps that to a minimum.
I think the most important criteria is putting it somewhere where it's accessible even during scenes. While not exactly what you're asking for, we do have a wiki that has the continent on it. It's not a great one though and definitely needs more detail.

Probably the lighting.Asked Ashley to sleep with me as a regular evening event. Got this:

She's blonde in every other frame.
That's not lighting. That's temporally discomforting hair care.Probably the lighting.
It encourages the player to not focus on one character. It's a subtle way of saying "go do something else". Too much of this will get annoying. This is Harem Hotel after all, so the idea is to play through every character's story. Can I ask why you view that as a positive? Thanks for the suggestion. I've also decided to rework the map in photoshop:I think the most important criteria is putting it somewhere where it's accessible even during scenes.
Here's a quick mock-up of what I'd implement. It's 3-am though so yeah, quality is as you'd expect.
The 'Map' on the left could be anywhere. I kept the "Syl'anar" in Pink at the top since that's where the character Names are when viewing the Gallery. That way it's consistent.
If you had a world map with the other continents you could even use the arrow at the bottom to switch between them.
ps: great update, as always
