naw dawg the mc in HH is not passive and the story is pretty interconnected but yeah there is more group sex well dependent on the path you take in either game but over all they are very similar
I said 'less passive' and, no... HH is not nearly as interconnected as HR until WAY later.
It takes A WHILE before the plot starts to feel interconnected.
HR was built up that way from the very start.
As for plot, yes, there are similarities in themes and premise. Namely 'family' and 'finding a place to belong.
HH has way more social commentary going on and its discourse on racism and classism are way more at the front than the smaller scale character dramas going on in HR.
Overall, I think both are different enough while excelling in certain areas over the other.
HH has more gameplay and worldbuilding I like a lot more than HR, while HR has a more tightly focused narrative and overall more heroines I like compared to HH.
Just depends what you're look8ng for I suppose.
