The rape sequence was itself and from the MC's perspective well executed. It is simply put forward that Marianne's perspective is the least explored and the story would benefit from it. At least that is my current understanding of things. It is normal for a story to have better parts and others that are weaker. We would not have this discussion if everything was bad.

I don't think the scene itself or the aftermath (granted I only finished the scene I never even played the 2nd chapter because I said I called it and it turns out I did) is particularly well done.

From what I recall the scene is more or less: two girls enter science lab, something goes wrong and some gas? Is released, MC inhales gas? Gets dick and is on her best friend within 2-3 lines of dialogue, The "rape" happens but it's clearly going to end up with both participants looooooooving it.
I'm likely a bit off since i haven't touched this game since but there are multiple ways that even the scene itself could be made better (while giving more player choice without adding too much work).

Why not have the MC get to "decide" how much she wants to resist the urge (but have her do it in the end)? It would take a few lines of dialogue and a couple of extra Renders while making it "better" for people who fetishize rape and really allow the player to feel like they (mc) are trying to hold back instead of it just saying mc so horny must rape best friend no regurts.
You say that the best friend is the weakest part (agreed) but why not just have her slightly changed by the experiment? Sure MC was the one who got most of it but unless MC inhaled 100% of the futa stuff it would be easy to say and show "best friend gets a small amount and her sexual desire is increased because of it". Then she isn't just a "slutty LI who is safe to rape/use as sexual outlet" but instead someone who could be struggling similarly to MC. But futa on female go brrrrrrrr I guess who needs compelling writing.

My issue is (especially early on) the story is literally just set up/interdiction and the rape is one of the first "storybits" you get to and it doesn't seem to have changed that much (content seems to have changed but quality hasn't)

Yeah it seems like the writer wants to tackle heavy topics while giving their characters weight is at odds with wanting the mc to actually enjoy having sex.

That's an impression I had as well, and it reminded me of FMC corruption stories, where the FMC is exposed to new and boundary-crossing situations, but in the end it's all good because of tinglies between her legs.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying HaHT does the same thing. This MC is already very lust-driven, and her secret being exposed feels a lot like a corruption-games narrative to me.

As far as all the trauma and baggage other people are working through, I really hope she doesn't magically solve it with a good dicking.

It is still a plot line that should be explored IMO. A way to go back to the twins and have more lewd opportunities.

This is the part of the whole event that I have trouble with, personally. To me, it makes her seem too whore-ish. I forget this bar scene you almost make me want to replay the game to check it out for myself but i'll wait till the update. Personally I have a hard time seeing her doing that to the MC for a few reasons. I feel she has a stronger bond with the MC than her BF and probably the one person she doesn't want to hurt. Which is another reason I think her no fucks given attitude towards the rape is because she doesn't want to make the MC feel even worst. Also if I recall correctly there is 2 paths for her one where she cheats and cucks her BF and another where she waits to break up with him. With all that being said I get why she may me a worrisome partner / LI to you if she can cheat on her BF on 1 path. It's easily to overlook a LI that will cheat to be with the MC in these games just cause you want them but when you take a step back and think about their character it makes you question things.

yeah that's always a slippery slope especially in real life. I only see it differently in this game compared to another basically for the reasons I said. But either way even if you go with the "cheating" path instead of the "faithful" one, it's hard for me to see her doing that to the MC because of their history. But I totally get why you would be worried about that on the cheating path. Personally gonna go with the faithful path as my main path for her once it gets expanded on, that version of her is easily my favorite character. I might make the cheating path my manwhore / slut save and see consequences for playing in such a way.

She will be the most loyal LI in the game even on the cheating route. The whiners and snowflakes know why she cheated, know she loves the MC, know she would die for the MC..and deep downh know she would not betray the MC....but no...they still want to whine and complain.

I missed the last few days of what ended up being a serious discussion about the identity and motivations of the characters, particularly that of Marianne (best friend, LI). I do agree that some aspects of the plot and overall storytelling are... um, questionable so far but I am of the mind to give the author/ dev some time to continue working before offering criticism or judgement. In other words, let them cook.


Therefore, rather than debate comments already made (though I do want to object to labeling her as 'whorish'), I would like to add three things to the discussion.

1. Marianne and the MC were supposed to have the "talk" - where they address the first kiss and reveal their true feelings etc. What they did talk about (the incident) was barely scratching the surface of what happened and it didn't do much to address the emotional repercussions for them both. Which is okay, of course. You don't go to one therapy session then suddenly declare yourself cured.

Anyway, that "talk" then got put off until after the party and then again the next morning after the sex. So the author/ dev kicked the can down the line and we have to wait for the next update before we get a deeper exploration of Marianne's feelings - not just her desire for more of that dick. Ultimately, we know a bit about the character but it is also fair to say that there is more to come. As with most stories, a character's depth and emotional development takes place over time. It is a bit reductivist to talk like we know all about a character & her motivations when her story is, quite literally, still being written.

2. We learned that your choices regarding Marianne and her current BF can lead to a sharing path where Marianne continues to see the BF and the MC. How that plays out is still unknown but what it does tell us is that how we define the personality and character traits of Marianne is somewhat up to the player as well.

Sometimes we forget that we control more than just the MC in some of these stories in ways that are not just divided between the traditional AVN corruption and love paths.

3. It seems to me that Ryu is possibly being set up as a potential LI. I may be misremembering this but I want to say that an interaction or two offered initial corruption points or something like that. You are all free to correct me if I am wrong... just saying that's what I sorta remember. At some point I will go back and replay the current episodes to confirm.

If I am right about that assumption, the MC might not stay full lesbian. If that is the case, and if a sharing path is open, there is the additional possibility that the MC could also fuck Marianne's BF (Peter?) and/ or other male LI's.
