I like the level so far. I recall another VN that had a primary LI that was very dark skinned (
it was called Haley, I think) and the lighting was set very dark for some of the evening scenes, so you didn't get to really see here well in those scenes, and with Patricia, you'll want a little bit of light so that you can appreciate her better.
Since it's a "visual novel" having slightly higher than natural light, in most instances, is a benefit for me - we can see the details of the environment and the characters better. Plus, in reality, your eyes adjust to darker situations and use what available light there is to focus on those details. I don't consider it a hard and fast rule (sometimes you'll be in a pitch dark room or cave for a reason), but when you are having interaction where absolute, or near absolute, darkness isn't a plot point, erring on the side of letting the player see more clearly is the better course for me. And, besides, the only strip clubs I've ever been in where you didn't have decent lighting to see your dancer tended to employee pretty skanky dancers.
