Started this a little bit ago. Had to break out to start a save log, so thought I'd throw up some initial impressions:
  • Really like the GUI and the way the boxes seem to slide up to you when you save. Not the standard look and layout, but I like the way you can easily see everything you would want. Kind of simple, but elegant. Designer did a great job of it. The little things really can matter. :)
  • I can see that this is probably going to be a save hog with three mutually exclusive decisions on each tree right off the bat. As noted - the only reason I'm commenting now is because I had to start a save notes file just three decision trees in. Of course the "reject" decision (however it's worded) probably won't be chosen often, if ever, though I did see comments about a new dancer in the most recent release that may be presenting as a harem wrecker, so I guess there will have to be at least one branch where she isn't given priority, but we'll see.
  • As expected, the rendering is top notch - great looking environments and ladies (though the car's speedometer didn't seem to be working;)). Noticed Sky got wet during the private version of the dance - a little surprised there wasn't an immediate comment, but I'm only to the point of having feet in my lap now and adding that third save (beyond the seed save) already, so maybe it will come up. :ROFLMAO:
Think I'll enjoy this.

And, yes - I deliberately changed the font color. Hate that sites like this are too stupid to allow you a single space between points and always close the gap if you try to manipulate it. Don't site designers know anything about enhancing readability and breaking up text walls?!?!?!?!
Yeah the quality improved alot compared the previous game, and i think the next gen models are do the job right here. But TBH i really hope dev will improve the lightning more, since (for me) with those kind of setting, it is too bright.

I like the level so far. I recall another VN that had a primary LI that was very dark skinned (it was called Haley, I think) and the lighting was set very dark for some of the evening scenes, so you didn't get to really see her well in those scenes, and with Patricia, you'll want a little bit of light so that you can appreciate her better.

Since it's a "visual novel" having slightly higher than natural light, in most instances, is a benefit for me - we can see the details of the environment and the characters better. Plus, in reality, your eyes adjust to darker situations and use what available light there is to focus on those details. I don't consider it a hard and fast rule (sometimes you'll be in a pitch dark room or cave for a reason), but when you are having interaction where absolute, or near absolute, darkness isn't a plot point, erring on the side of letting the player see more clearly is the better course for me. And, besides, the only strip clubs I've ever been in where you didn't have decent lighting to see your dancer tended to employ pretty skanky dancers.

Yeah, they could make the scenes darker and more accurate, but much like TV shows and the like, the dark scenes are artificially brightened a bit so the watcher/reader can actually see what's going on. Slockie actually did some various lighting tests in Discord, particularly with Patricia, and asked for some early supporter feedback regarding if light levels were good and people could actually see the renders.

Thats make sense actually, I thought dev just not working much on the Lightning, since some scene i admit have perfect lightning, but some have "too bright" lightning. Considering what you said about that, now i understand the intention. Its good move tho.

Finished up Chapter 1 last night, so Chapter 2 on agenda for later. Was going to ask about whether the car license plate was a standard for the asset (since it's Mass and they're in Louisiana), but that got cleared up! There are some details I notice that are damned silly - the first was that the car was moving without moving:

Unless there's a light on that open highway... ;)

Then there was the nostalgia - the soda machine:

There weren't that many of those still around in the 70s when I was a child - mostly can machines by then. But there was a little family owned store just across from my school where they had one of that nature and it had, among other things, Frosty Root Beer - had Santa on the bottle. These things were set right at freezing and when you'd get that root beer it would have little ice crystals forming in it. Was the best thing going when you were 8 years old! Only a quarter, too, for the 12oz bottle, and you got a nickel for turning it back in.

It's soooo fitting this is set in a "gentlemen's club" environment (or possibly a deliberate product of using that environment, you sneaky bastards!): you get teased with intimacy by the more personable girls, only to constantly get cock-blocked (tire irons, emotional baggage and outbursts...), but can only get a more full, intimate connection with the girl all the other girls hate! :ROFLMAO:

Taking that route, she doesn't seem so bad - she just handles her baggage in a different way, via emotional isolation. Don't have to deal with the feels if you play the mean girl role and push them all away. ;)

The only thing bothering me is that this is a fantasy world that is feeling way too real in the way people are interacting. Congratulations on doing something few devs can do. salute2-small.png

I can't wait for them to release more chapters of this game, and I hope one day they'll be able to add awesome soundtracks like they did with BW... the steam build of it doesn't have memorable soundtracks.

Maybe he is into sharing his harem? Harem sharing is that a thing (yet)? Maybe we enter a new genre?!
there are a couple of devs with those symptoms already,....but pls dont put idiotics in some underdeveloped minds....[im not calling out anybody just saying....]
