It's a shame she has these 'issues'....VN's with characters with dark pasts, troubled characters, crime plots and needing to help folk is as overused and overdone at this point as family incest VN's. It's just old already. The worst thing is, most of those VN's would be perfectly fine and enjoyable with just the base plot, in this case, MC ends up the club for the reasons he did.
It really is fucking tiring dealing with all the godamn drama all the time. I'm sure it will end up great, the getting there might be a slog though, despite how good some of the LI are (of the ones we've interracted with).

I'd be perfectly happy with just Mika (no known issue so far) and Coral (daddy issues lmao, I can live with that). But I'm pretty sure they'll have their own set of problems down the line. But you are right, most of it is old news by now. They could go for a feel-good slice-of-life game (well except the obvious cancer thing). There are a few games where it works, no forced drama or shit like that just good vibes. I'd be down. But I think devs kinda feel forced (?) to include these tropes for added dramatic effect.

Ummm, they're strippers, not librarians. Many strippers do it because they don't feel that they have a better choice. That's not universal, but many come from backgrounds of poverty and abuse.

When I tried making a VN, I wanted to make something I'd like, which is essentially what you've said. The nice parts of a relationship blossoming and just being happy and chill, there was drama and hurdles they had to work through but they came out better the other side. The story was primarily focused on the MC working through his issues, while the girl supports him.
Then I realised it'd be fucking boring. Sure, the idea of a lovey-dovey VN with perfect girls with no trauma sounds fun, but how many times can you watch a scene where everything is great before it feels repetitive. The girls having backstories makes them deeper as characters, maybe more relatable and it makes the nice scenes feel like a reward for the characters, and the users. A character who has no trauma, no trouble, whatever is both unrealistic and two dimensional.
That being said, I do think it's laid on a bit too thick and too close together in this VN
I'm 95% certain that helping the LIs deal with their own dark pasts or trauma leading to the MC coming to terms or overcoming his own recent traumatic news is going to be a major plot aspect of the game. So it does not surprise me at all that LIs might have issues and trust that it'll have a narrative payoff.

tbh I like it when there is a little drama or LI with trouble / trauma but the whole crime plot thing is annoying to see in AVN's when it really doesn't feel like it's that type of AVN.
It's certainly not a trope to have an MC with cancer and LIs with emotional baggage. Welcome to life, fren. Have had both cancer and long COVID. We won't talk about my relationships. LMAO

It does make for an interesting scenario. If MC is dying it even changes what he's looking for from Lis, because there is no long term anything.

In the AVN world, troubled characters very much are a trope these days (as well as the other points I mentioned). Also, no, the vast majority of people in 'the real world' do not have as much baggage/involved in crime/everything else that AVN characters have. At least (so far lol) it's not going down the interconnected/intertwined/overly convoluted 'trope', that is also endemic in new VN's. I also never mentioned the MC, I have no issue with that at all.
Sorry to hear you've had your own issues though and hope things are better.

Nikki is just the entire combo and basically everyone in the club knows that her go ahead is important, plus she stays over to look after you.
Sylvanie is hot, but her attitude is interesting. Confident yet borderline arrogant, I am interested in her scar tho. C - Section or Appendix maybe?
Aurora could have been number 2, but her freak out was interesting and she bolted. But she is a beautiful character. Same thing with Patricia, maybe we will get more in ch3.
Mika is okay but would like more interactions with her ngl.

Agree about Nikki, she's number 1 - at least for now - because she appears to be the leader of the pack ... sort of and seems to have her shit together (no real drama from her so far).
For me though, everyone else is currently tied for #2. They all seem to have some drama, most of them seem to have some issues with one or more of the other girls but I don't know enough about them, their problems or their conflicts to make any decisions.
I guess Coral is the exception, but there's something off there too. She's really young and decided to call you daddy before you'd had a conversation. She doesn't seem to have a lot of drama or conflicts but there's something.
Just sitting back and waiting for the next chapters really.
