I really like 'Easter Eggs', but I also agree that it can end up confusing people who haven't played the other chapters. But I just want to theorize a little, because it's fun.

Hey n taii long time lurker maybe first time poster lol? Hey I was wondering how much work goes into these games, what version of rpg maker you use and if there are plug-ins involved. I work a full time job but I went to school for computer graphics and was thinking about trying to start my own game with your same style , maybe a sci-fi genre or something. I made a few games a few years back with humbird0's engine on the old legend of Krystal forums. I started up my old rpg maker today and it looked like the old ntr obedient filia type style and I'd want something with the better pixel art like you. Anyways hope to hear from you and love your content!!!

Well, some people are sharing opinions on ntr cons and pros so I thought about sharing mine on ntr mystery type :unsure: . As others stated ntr corruption is pretty repetitive in most games where heroine begins doing some small foreplay with men and progresses to more and more serious interactions. This is one of the big letdowns for ntr mistery for me since you always know that heroine won't go for sex in early stages of game hence all silhouettes and tricking you to think heroine is already lost her cherry is not convincing. I liked Ntrpg series for making kinda different approach where heroine gets in bed with other man early in game. So really makes me wish for more variety of corruption ntr, like for example heroine having drunk snu snu in early stage and then antagonist (not necessarily a bad guy) tries to seduce her to repeat this unforgettable experience. So yeah in short ntr corruption lacks unpredictability for me, which in turn makes ntr mystery experience bland:confused:

Let me just take this oppertunity to thank you for developing these games and making them free for everyone, one literally could not complain about the quality of the game even if it was shit, which its far from being! The enviroments are extremely well done, the camerawork, everything. I hope those things are not too much of a bottleneck in development.

I would say that I'm a corruption fan, but probably in a different sense than most people. I completely understand why those tropes are in your game for those "most other people".

You are completely right that we should not judge the antagonists too early, and therefore I won't. I assumed that the duke was among the people behind

In which case it would be a nice change of pace with a more morally grey character.
Well, more quality for the maps and the environment do take a lot more time, which is mainly why it took nearly 9 months to have the 1st demo ready. But hey, at least it's worth it^^

As for the Duke, well, it's complicated. Most antagonists have at least some form of backstories, but the Duke has by far the most developed one.

Lastly, my wish and ofcourse you will know my wish if you still remember my other post. well that maybe overkill haha I will not try to force you. in other means maybe it has to be more often to shown up I think and the after sex scene things can be visited by MC so knowing that certain place has something going on earlier . It's doesnt have to be jizz on the floor maybe a used condom (idk if condom is exist in this game) or panties,bra,etc. and FYI I really like after sex scene in Merry H-Mas it's the reason I kept following your works and maybe you can take preference from your Merry Hmas.

My appreciation is big for you . for me you are the last standing content creator to create NTRPG and the genre I like "harem being stolen" . keep the good work bud.

But since HC3 is so early in development, I didn't have many occasions to add any. There'll be more as the story progresses. Maybe not to the extent that NTRPG 1&2 had though, which were quite literally "jizz baths".: )

I've seen a lot of suggestions lately on this thread regarding the best approach on NTR but i've yet to see somebody talk about the feature that is possibly the backbone of the game, okay maybe not the backbone but it makes the game 10x times better. What i'm talking about is none other then...The Repeatable Freeroam H-scenes!

CH2 was great in many ways but since the MC's role was to observe the events that are unfolding around him there was not much to do in-between quests other than starting the next one which, to me at least, made the game feel a bit...empty, i guess. Fortunately that was only until we reached what i belive to be the best part of the game, the Denial. It's where the girls are already having sex with their antagonists and even though they're clearly enjoying it they make up some excuse as to why they agreed to it, a perfect example is when Celis and Edwyr are having sex for the first time without a condom in the cave. That Denial phase is when the girls started appearing around the map during freeroam and it made the game so much more enjoyable it was unbelivable. Before that, the only way for you to see some action was to start a quest, do what you were told to do, and while you were doing it the POV sometimes changed to the girl, and you got a glimpse of what was happening. This feature made the world feel much more alive and it gave you the feeling that even though you're not present, things are still happening. Not to mention now you had control over these scenes, well...you didn't exacly have control over the scenes themselves but rather you were able to trigger them whenever you wanted to, once you knew what was happening and when.

What i was trying to say is that more in-depth and more frequent freeroam scenes would make CH3 a much more enjoyable game. Not to mention if i had to take a guess then i would say these scenes take less time to make and they only need to be added to the game once but they provide as content for the rest of the game, for example let's say in Update 7 there is a new freeroam scene where if you go to the Tavern on Lundath evening the tavern is closed and this drunk guy at the entrance says something like "This is the second time this week Lily closed up early, she's been acting weird lately", and if you look up to the window you can see her with Tavros in his room or something like that that's not the point, the point is that from then on, in the following updates, whenever you go to the Tavern on Lundath evening, there is going to be a scene for you, and at some point it could even change to something more hardcore as her corruption is progressing. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the amount of scenes like these that were in the Demo, i honestly wasn't expecting more than 1 and even that was wishful thinking but it makes me really optimistic towards the game.

HC3 definitely has more freeroam lewd events than HC2, or events in general for that matter. There are not only more freeroam events, but I've also added mini-NTR stories, things happening around the map that progress with the main quest, but aren't part of the story. Like a fangirl that comes every day to listen to her favorite street artist, but gets gradually stolen by another man that pretends to be a fan. Since HC3 takes place in a city, it's easier to come up with freeroam events than in HC2.

I hope the background in the sprites get upgraded in N_taii's next game get upgraded even further like this game in the link. It really adds to the atmosphere, mystery NTR elements and storytelling
I do plan to update the art for the sprites, but not right away, at least not for another game. I've spent quite a lot commissioning the sprites for HC3, so I at least want to be able to use them for a little while. After that, I hate to put it that way, but it'll all depend on money, because upgrading the sprites means upgrading everything, from haircuts to clothing, sex animations, environment assets, etc...

Well, barely 9 years passed between the end of HC2 and the beginning of the adult phase for Leto and the others, so Celis might just look the same... or not^^ I can't give a definitive answer on that : )

Hey! It all depends on what you do. My current game took quite a lot of work, but the 2nd took less, and the 1st one even less.
I use RPGMaker MV btw, but you could go with MZ too, which is the newest one.

As has been said before, to each their own^^ I prefer to build up the tension until the first loss of virginity with acts of increasing lewdness. I mean, even if the sex were to happen first, the outcome would still remain predictable after all.

That was my first thought too - I immediately remembered "cumpainted" rooms in NTRPG. It looked like antagonists needed carts/trailers to carry their balls. :D

The man himself returns for part 3. Honestly, even though these games just aren't my type (linear narrative with no gameplay/non-preventable NTR), it's always nice to get more high quality pixel porn and high tier writing that goes beyond simple plot contrivances for sex and adds something to characters beyond empty cookie cutter backstories. The new ability to switch to and from a limited perspective is quite nice, and I feel like the city can be a lot more conducive to the free-roam events, as I felt like the in the older titles, I would rush through the main story just to access more events. I also enjoy the fact that the endings are now apparently determined by choices in game, rather than a simple "pick the ending" at the end. The new minigame is nice, as it feels like the player now has something to do in the downtime between the sex and main plot.

That being said, I hope to see a bit more active participation from the main character. I realise that their motives are always left vague until the end, so that players can more easily choose how to interact with the NTR element, but I feel that it lessens the impact of many plot points when they happen to or around what is effectively a blank slate. Personally, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when the protagonist's obliviousness is exaggerated too far, because it breaks my immersion, though I do understand that my opinion is probably not shared by many fans of this game. Also, a slightly small annoyance is the lack of a skip feature. It's forgivable in the more classic RPGM games, as the story tends not to be the absolute main focus, but a VN-style story should have more VN-style basic features such as that, but I feel like it could be more the limits of the engine than an oversight by the dev.

Based on the demo's style of storytelling and viewpoint feature, this game seems to be gunning for the "Mystery NTR" subtag, rather than the in-your-face misery porn of NTRPG and the prequel. Knowing this, I can't help but wonder that it would be nice to have access to a stat screen of sorts for the main characters, allowing us to see their approximate location during free time, their schedule, maybe their outfit if the art budget stretches, etc.. After all, while the pixel porn is indeed quite nice to look at, it begins to lose impact once you see a lot of it, and I feel like the best remedy (besides spending time and money on more assets) would be to give the player hints and leave the rest to their imagination. I also wonder if we'll get to see any scenes locked behind being good at the card minigame, because it's always nice to have something to work towards, some goal, some reward that requires more effort than being at the right place at the right time and holding Z.

All that being said, I can certainly appreciate this series for being a standout in the western erotic games market: high-effort, lots of communication by the dev, relatively few delays, and actual finished games rather than paypigging off Patreon. Best of luck with the game, N_taii. I'm looking forward to see how this one turns out.

Yeah. I mean, I didn't mind when I first played it, because I know it's a porn game, and Japanese eroges are well-known to go into over the top exaggerations, but I find it a bit hard to add it into my own game.

The man himself returns for part 3. I'm going to address some of your points here:
-for the MC being more involved, it's always kind of a difficult thing to do. He's supposed to fill so many shoes depending on what each player expects from the game all the while being the main tool to progress the story, that I'd rather avoid putting too much focus on him. The more interactions he has, the more personality he's given, the more it risks spoiling someone's expectations. Then, there's the problem that, as soon as he knows or believes something is going on, he either accepts it, so it's more netorase than netorare, or he fights back somehow and then things get even more complicated. In the end, I feel keeping him a blank slate is the best option in the long run.
-When you say "skip" option, do you mean fast-forward dialogues and text? Because you can fast-forward with CTRL
-Approximate location is something I did in HC1. I gave it up because it can quickly become a nightmare to track the main characters' every movements manually. It also takes quite a lot of time implementing it in-game, time that could be better spent elsewhere.
-The card game will have 1-2 scenes with the 1st character that introduced Triple Trident to the MC, but towards the end. If the player loses, then NTR. If he wins, maybe something in the happy ending? I'm not sure yet. Not everyone enjoys mini-games, which is why I don't want to lock too much content behind it, but still give a reward for those who've played all the way to the end.

This was something that I ~deeply~ enjoyed while playing Scars of Summer, especially with how it handled things from a limited perspective as well (unless you specifically sought out the full scenes). Having to constantly check the game's map to see if Ryoka's little icon had changed locations, going there to check if she was just doing something innocuous, and being able to get vague hints which would sometimes turn out to be nothing from the main character's cell phone whenever she broke away from the usual routine. It added another layer of gameplay beyond just linear progression of events.

If nothing else, I think it provides a wonderful aspect of messing with the player's expectations, like with the scene of Leto going to visit the Duke in the first public version and having the scene imply that he might be doing something with Rose before it's revealed to be some other woman — but with much more agency on the player's part by encouraging "freeform" paranoia of wandering around the map instead of just watching a scripted scene unfold.

And also hard agree on the outfit changes. Of course I understand if the new sprites might complicate that, but I think that was easily one of my favorite turning points in Chapter 2 when Aywin, Celis, and even Solana all visibly changed to reflect how far the lines had been pushed for them.

That's something I dislike about these kinds of NTR games. The MC is often not really 'immersed' in the world, he's used as a paranoid puppet going around stalking a girl so the player can scope scenes. It's just scene hunting, because you can magically see map states telling you when/where events are. It doesn't feel 'natural' for the character.

I think NTaii has handled it well enough in HC3 so far; the MC has a day job that encourages him to wander around the city, talk to people and see the hints. Noah had a similar role, but the morning/noon/evening cycle meant you were running around the town a few times a day, even when there was nothing to see and no change. Replaying Mass Effect recently, I noticed it was a problem there too; running around the ship, talking to companions to check if their conversation state had changed yet.

Something in between would be the best way to do it; Mass Effect 2 handled it with the Yeoman telling you 'Garrus wants to see you' when there was a conversation chambered. If it comes down to it, HC3's MC could think to themself 'I should check on Rose', for example, giving a character-initiated text prompt to the player to go looking for her.
