There is nothing to the foraging skill tree yet. All it does right now is it allows you to get apples when you unlock it.
Man am I upset.... Snowy update finally released... and I couldn't play it because I injured one of my eyes over the weekend. I finally played some of it today though as my eye is feeling a bit better and I'm not screaming in agony by trying to look at the computer screen. The "updates" to your methods are paying off. The animation clipping is much better now, all around improvement in general. Thank you Komi, I appreciate what you are doing despite the hell some people are putting you through. My only advice is to get someone to help you with the wording. There are many instances where the English is a bit off. Not criticizing or anything, English is a pain in the ass to get right considering sentence structure and word tense etc. For instance, for the fishing reel, it should not be "stucked", it is just "stuck". Honestly, that's all I really have to say that may be considered negative. I've loved your game since I first played it and I am happy to see some activity. I had hope that more was to come and just waited. Thank you.
To those of you that are still complaining, here's my advice. Just unwatch this thread and go find another game. You will never be happy with anything. You are miserable and wallow in it. A person can fix one problem so you feel you need to find another thing to harp on. Over and over. Find something else in life that you enjoy so you can stop being an eyesore to society. Letting it be known that you are unhappy with something is fine, but the vitriolic BS that's been posted in here is entirely unnecessary.
To those of you having errors. Either scan through the thread or learn how to use the search function. I think it's been mentioned about a dozen times to get the patch and the problem should be fixed. Stop being lazy and waiting for a notification that someone replied to you.
To those of you who are harping on "I waited 2/3 years for THIS!?!". Seriously, you are just lazy and don't actually follow the forum discussion. The Snowy update didn't take 2/3 years. It took 5/6 months. Komi took a break from chapter 1 to try and give us all at least a little bit to do. Yes, it took Komi longer than he expected. No, no one specifically ASKED for a holiday event. I sincerely believe he just wanted to get at least something out for those of us patiently waiting as a way of thanks. Personally, I appreciate it.
To people who are having problems with the fishing game or any of the other cheats. Search the forum for "universal ren'py mod". It is an in-game mod system that lets you change variables and such. No, I'm not going to give you the link. Learn to search the forum. Also for the fishing game if you do not want to use a cheat mod, you could try using a macro editor (AutoHotKey) to create a script to auto reel the fishing pole for you. I've done that in the past due to the fact I broke my wrist a while back and some motions are painful.
Komi started this game from ground zero. He's been learning how to do all of this as he goes. Programming, custom Koikatsu animation, procedural dungeons and such. Instead of taking the easy route and just finishing the game in the original version of Renpy it started with, he's updating to the new version and learning how to change his code which throws a wrench in the works. Having to relearn processes and syntax. It's not the average cookie cutter VN that is all the rage. It's different with new mechanics. Show some appreciation.
In the end, Komi has straight up admitted the errors he has made in this process. He's not hiding anything. He's taking in the advice that people are offering him. Changing the small delays, deciding to release chapter 1 in chunks instead of whole etc. No one is perfect people. I'm not putting him on a pedestal either. I'm just understanding of the process and that not everyone is as quick as others. I'd rather play a game that is released more slowly and shows improvement in graphics and methods over time than a game that is released and updated quickly with all the same errors being made over and over with no attempt to fix them.
P.S. If you think it can be done better/quicker? Put up or shut up. Don't compare him to other devs. Put your effort into making a game of equal or better quality then MAYBE I'll consider something you have to complain about.

While the vitriol in this thread has been excessive, some complaining is warranted, blindly defending someone who has (self-admittedly) made many mistakes doesn't do anyone any good. And if I'm going to give Komi credit on anything throughout this it's that he's had a very thick skin to the criticism, adamantly insisting that the naysayers just try out the game, so I don't think he'd want the "Shut up or get out" attitude.
"I waited 5 months for THIS!?!" is still a valid complaint when the update was supposed to be done in 1 month, a 500% delay is pretty ridiculous and is telling for the state of chapter 1.

Making a game isn't easy, and he's pushing Ren'Py farther than it probably should be pushed. All the while being fairly transparent about what's going on (at least a lot better than some other devs), and honestly I'm surprised that he's still willing to talk to us given everything that's been said in this thread.

Anyone else running into issues with the gallery? I've been through Luna's lvl 4 scene "Dirty Cat" as well as Sunny's lvl 5 scene "Friend's Handjob" and neither are unlocked. I know I at least saw a message for Sunny's saying it unlocked since I just did it. What's strange is Luna's lvl 7 scene "Bathing Cat" is unlocked.

Its pointless because he put off working on the main update, you know the thing everyone was and still is waiting for. And while I understand and acknowledge a lot of effort went into this update if the point was to show the quality of his work wouldn't it have been easier, better and faster to release the main update in parts.
This is obviously because he didn't think the update would take as long as it did so he estimated the actual time required for chapter 1 to be released would be significantly longer than the time he would invest into the update. Komi has always been terrible worth deadlines and estimating time required so this is just another example of that.
Sounds like you're just complaining about stuff people have already been complaining about for months so I doubt anything reasonable would have pleased you in this update. 15 fully animated h-scenes in a 7(?) month period is pretty massive if you compare games with similar structures like goddess whim, or scarlet law and I'd say the quality of these scenes are closer to goddesses whim than scarlet law. Plus it has nice (custom?) voices to go with the h scenes too.
By the same metric the Halloween update is also "pointless" as is any update this isn't mainline story focused. You keep dodging my point by not exactly telling me *why* you're upset about the update. What do you play HHG for that isn't in the christmas update? Mining? Resource gathering? More character interactions? Mainline story? Because as much as many of us like all those aspects we also like porn and this update does a very good job of it.

I stated my opinion you didn't like it and started a conversation but never once did you say WHY YOU like the update and keep defending it, I already stated that I think the update is lackluster and not worth the wait, and ill admit the H-scenes are well animated, but the minigames lag even on a good gaming pc. the text is slow even when set to max, and i might be biased on this front but I don't like seasonal content in most H-Games. their just an excuse to be lazy.

I'm going to drop a hopefully objective critic on the recent update.
First of, the only real gripe i had with the update:
The fishing minigame.
The fishing minigame was and still is a wrist wrecking nightmare, and mechanical wise bad implemented due to renpy and Komisaris decision (Sorry).
The christmas mechanic even elevates it to make it even worse.
Circle (Hopefully), switch from A to B, move C to D, click right time, go back to start, circle again.
Ren'py doesn't seem to do a sufficient per time check to make the whole circle ordeal count, just saying.
Besides:
Getting info about ch1 in christmas update was confusing all around (Did i forget who Foxgirl, Lurge or Hunter are? Or never saw them to begin with?).
The pros:
Game got better in production quality, obviously.
Lewd's don't seem to rely soley on KK stock anims. Big +.
Are you (Komisari) using stock blendshapes/shapekeys in studio or created custom ones for like, Ari scene? in Blender?

But I already stated that I liked the new H-scenes and character interactions a lot which is why I'm enjoying the update but I also understand that with the update's weird positioning after chapter 1 when we haven't seen it makes it hard to add extra content. I also like that this smaller update gives opportunity for us to report bugs or issues such as the performance issues. I'm also a fan of spending holiday events with VN characters. It makes for a fun change of pace to the regular story.
Had Komisari released chapter 1 in parts over time as it was being made we could have play tested the game to tell him about major issues that we would have easily caught such as the poor performance. Most people who play VNs or RPGmaker games aren't using some expensive gaming rig to run the game so those people could have easily informed Komi about those issues. Having not released anything for 2-3 years means he commited himself to playtesting 2-3 years worth of content by himself.
With that being said it sounds like your main complaint isn't about the content itself but rather with event themed updates in general. It sounds like NOTHING would have made you happy with this update yet you still feel the need to complain about the number of custom animations despite there being a lot of quality ones within a decent time frame or something. You're free to complain about the christmas update but it's nothing Komi hasn't already heard before so I don't know what exactly you hope to accomplish. I'm complaining about things that I feel need to be addressed that don't really get talked about as much whereas you're complaining the type of content that it was going to be.
And yes, to address your first point. It is surprising that somehow Komisari is the ONLY person that believes his deadlines/release dates. Somehow he has failed to notice that he needs like 2-3 times the amount of time he thinks he needs but I'm telling you what the idea was from *his* perspective. Not only does it show the animation quality but if he manages to iron out any of the lag issues then Chapter 1's release will actually be smoother. It's not going to be surprise to anyone that when chapter 1 releases Komisari will have to be working overtime as we begin to playtest 2+ years worth of content and we find all the bugs and issues he didn't. Hopefully the fixes that apply to this update will also apply to the new content so that maybe if we're lucky it's not going to lag... but to be completely honest with you I'm losing a little hope that I'll even be able to run the game well since even outside of minigames the game seems kinda low fps sometimes for me even on this better PC.

IMHO You can't say you are bad with estimates while saying "it'll be ready in a couple of days" and being late around six months. it's just impossible unless you are a complete retard. You just can't underestimate the amount of work for six month and say it will be ready in couple of days OR SO. So just my IMHO it is a lie. An obvious, blunt lying. The dev should stop throwing empty words like it's not a big deal. It makes him look bad (at least for people with brains and critical thinking)
Was the incest ever official? I mean I know Komi can't officially support it because of patreon but Elizabeth's event made me think that there was never any actual incest planned just some patreon.com friendly pretend incest because of the level of backstory that she has as an adoptive mother figure instead of the blatantly obvious "landlady" you normally see.
So the game says i need to update my directX but i did and the same message still pops up, do i just ignore it? It says my computer does not use shaders.
