I'm hoping he'll come back, but this is definitely the longest stretch that he's been gone. The second longest was for about a year in 2020 when his wife's family got sick with Covid and he was busy with that (and, like the rest of us, the world melting down).

I enjoyed playing this game for the first time yesterday and plan to play some more today. I'm surprised to see that it's abandoned when it seems to have so much going for it.

No, not officially abandoned, the dev just takes so long between updates that the mods mark the thread as abandoned.
