This is consistent with their gameplay in Genshin Impact, yes. Every second sword strike from Jean heals the entire team, her elemental burst heals even more. And Archons are exemplars of their element's strengths, with Anemo's strength being crowd control. Which is why Venti just hangs all the enemies in the air, making them easy to hit and helpless.
In terms of this game, you probably need stronger units.
As an example of a stronger unit; Samachurls + Full Mitachurl squad has a tough enough shield that they can actually tank quite a few hits before it goes down... and it regenerates. Rogues are all kinds of bullshit if you can actually field them. And a Megachurl is a direct counter to the eyes.
But... actually assembling that squad is a very difficult proposition. And just relaying on Mitachural + elemental squad isn't going to cut it. It is a very difficult fight, and it's probably a good idea to just ignore it until you've conquered a fair amount of the west.

The map is getting darker as your abyssalization rate increase, just like what's happening in the Genshin Impact's 5.1 main story.
Theofrad i have been encountering a new bug as of week 95, i don´t know how it did not happen before but now every few battles when nearby other forces it add almost everyone in the vicinity to the selection for the attack, i have done battle like this before and it was not a problem until this point if i send the battle and did not count properly or if the entire right column is full the game freezes the cage can still be clicked in battle but i can´t do anything else.
Having a samachurl die in combat but you still winning the battle has a chance of dropping a brainwash mask. Not sure the exact rate, but it fairly often: anywhere between 33% to 66% per samachurl death.
Any update on an alternative link instead of Mega? Itchin to play the new version in the weekend. But every browser I used to try sticks a middle finger to me every time I download, with Windows Security spitting on my face.
Try mixing a caster with a set of rangers. Certain element combos do quite a bit of damage. Once the fight starts, have your mages cast pillar on themselves and then send out a bait unit to draw aggro and die. Attempt to burst down a single enemy, Venti is the best target but you can go for the Archons as well. If you can kill a unit in a round or two you can then retreat to preserve your units. Killed enemies don't respawn except for the elite knights so you can slowly whittle away at the enemy forces.
If you're currently unable to 1 or 2 round an enemy then you should continue fighting westward and ignore mondstadt for now
The biggest issues is obviously Morax. Massive team wide shield, ult is a team wipe if not prepared. Ganyu is also extremely strong with AOE damage. The Elite Millelith squads can be annoying too. Not sure what difficulty you using, so disclaimer, not sure how Hard or Hellichurl difficulties feel, but I would recommend the following:
Hero units, who you got ready to rumble? They are important; likely to do the most damage. It is hard for typical Hillichurl units to do much in this fight. Shenhe is broken, Noelle is extremely strong, Jean is pretty good, Sucrose is decent, etc.
Other unit leaders? Geo Mitachurls is obviously strong for Geo shield and resistance. Nycto Mitachurls for decent damage and Nycto element. Pyro/Electro Mitachurls are budget for damage. Ideally, you have a Geo Lawachurl or two, the most tanky unit for this fight. Cryo Lawachurl is also pretty good, for tanking Ganyu specifically. Rogues could be used to great effect, but might be hard to get, even at this point.
The most important factor: Large Geo Slimes. Massive Geo resistance, good health and damage. Throw on your heroes/Lawachurls/etc, and they won't die. Doesn't need to be 999 elemental resist, but would be extremely good here. Large Geo Slimes are aight fillers. Samachurls for Lawachurls, Spectars for Rogues, Nycto archers for extra damage, etc. But the most important for survivability is Large Geo Slimes.
Priority, imo, should be the following: kill Elite Millelith squads first. Then Ganyu. Finally, Morax. Kill their adds, kill their DPS, and then kill their tank.
Hopefully, this gives you some ideas on your attack plan, even at high difficulties.

So, a fun fact, at least in my experience: Ganyu can leave the node if you manage to capture her twice and still fail the node. I once managed to get her to flee into the mountains, leaving morax on his own in the harbor.
Ganyu is the actual worst part of the node compared to morax, because of her massive AOE and constant freeze effects. You can use hydro samachurls to heal back some of his damage, but the constant cryo is a hard counter to that strategy.

My unit list, and the girls i corrupted so far. And i still have 4-5 girls to corrupt, because vision broken.try include hu tao, she will be invincible with massive dmg for period of time and bring the big shaman (that throw cabbage -> its super effective for morax) and take some lawachurl (at least 3)
ur priority -> morax -> elite millieth -> ganyu
if u still cant win,just try to kill morax then retreat u wont lose anything but morax wont respawn again then just fck them all like easy mode without morax

)capture hu tao, she is the most important in my opinion to make any enemy 1-3 hit
if u need tips capture hu tao, just bring unusual hillichurl for its skill and some mitachurl (any element)
when she is in flame mode (red aura mode or whatever it is) just run and don't go near her for 3-4 turns (she is invincible till her aura gone) then just kill her

in my opinion in this game we need to be careful to corrupt heroine because it will modify her offspring possibility, just make sure u corrupt only if u already have everything type offspring or her element is <50 (she wont breed +1 higher class of her partner)
if u just need her for ur team, just give mask
