yep although in earlier years some games devs really thought theirs games are flawed and can be redone in order to improve the overall quality ; many games nowadays are just using the rework as a excuse for their procrastination , which in other words : "miliking the consumer"

Those morons need to learn that:
- reworks and remakes are reserved for finished works
- you supposed to remake things due to technological advancements, not because you sucked at writing the game initially because you couldn't spare a month or two on research before creating your goon fantasy story.

Christ... this game is over five years old. Let that sink in. Outside of the first year or two, in which progress was already slow, it seems like this isn't even approaching glacial speed right now.

I honestly thought this game wouldn’t fall into the usual rework nonsense, but here we are.
To be fair, the story is good, I’m not denying that. The rework happened because the dev couldn’t keep track of the old variables, added new UI elements, updated to a newer Ren’Py version, and introduced some features mentioned in the changelog. We all know old saves never work once a game gets remade, remastered, or whatever they call it.
I’m not complaining about the rework itself. My question is: why do it now, when the game isn’t even close to complete? The main girl, Charlotte, still doesn’t have a single scene. The game is more than 5 years old. I accepted the slow burn because the story was good, but she hasn’t had any actual content (sexual scenes). And this isn’t even a harem game where you can skip around, you have to play each route separately.
I always looked at this game thinking, “Okay, it’ll progress eventually.” But damn, it’s been 5 years, and even the other girls barely have scenes. At this point I’m asking myself: when it comes to Charlotte, is this really an adult visual novel? Story is nice and all, but we players still need some hot scenes to keep the flow going.
I didn’t say anything before because the story carried the game, but now the slow burn feels like it’s going nowhere. Maybe the developer should’ve considered a rework after finishing the game, not in the middle. But it is what it is, nothing we say will change what’s already done.
Honestly, it might be time to put this game on hold and wait for the final version. Which, let’s be real, might drop sometime after GTA VI releases alongside Elder Scrolls VI. Still… maybe.

Because Suzi is moving back in and her path would feel disjointed without the rework...
which part of the game did the "rework" start? Or do I just need to replay the entire thing?

I get that, but the dev himself said the rework was mainly because of outdated code, renamed variables, and updating Ren’Py. The Suzi point is more speculation. My main concern is just the timing, especially since Charlotte still has zero content after all these years.
