Erik, thank you very much for the upload, but could you attach the readme?
The original package had the readme files for the translation patch as well as the install/uninstall batch files and the backups needed to roll the game back to the pre-translated state.
This included some helpful compatibility notes and the credits for the translation. but they seem to have gotten lost somewhere.

The translation quality on the description/overview leaves me a bit skittish.
I remember playing these games in the old days with just a texthooker and ATLAS translation software. This looks to be about the same quality as what that turned out...

A full save is included in the download, the speed issue can be addressed with the utility software listed in the readme.

That's pretty much all avoidable you can play it as a lovey dovey game as long as you don't lose any fights.

I'm planning to translate all three but I need to take a beat to work on the tools a bit before starting the next one.
Edit: there is also some interest from other translators in using the tools we built for this to translate Discovery's other series, so I don't want those efforts held up behind the whole trilogy.

It worked for me: Right-click in the game and select setup. Set the SYS cursor, and using GPU Booster.
