I would suggest giving it a try , the rape is avoidable and the game still has plenty of more conventional content.
As far as which games are worthy of the effort involved in a translation. (it's not a trivial effort for these even with working tools and LLM assistance). Cosmamania and Tsuma x Tsuma were both pretty popular, and the hot springs stuff is supposedly pretty good as well.
Their swords and sorcery series 'Mirage' is quite a bit older, I've never played it and I am not sure what new challenges it might present, or if the game is any good.
Avoid the 4th Aisaiger game, at that point they were already broke as a joke, their parent company had collapsed completely, and Gan-chan was basically trying to start a second trilogy alone, and while hes a talented artist - he can't write for shit, and the third game really puts a lid on things, so it was a bad idea from the start. The credits show a bigger team, but the product is smaller, badly written, and all around of poor quality.

Edit: I am not planning to translate anything other than the aisaiger games... that and the tools is more than enough to keep me busy for a while.

Almost no hentai artists use their real names, and in the 2010s the full time studio and retail distribution system finally collapsed completely as smaller doujin circles and digital distribution took over almost completely. Only the biggest fish survived. Most of the artists either retired, switched industries, or changed handles and joined/setup doujin circles.

Missing is probably the wrong way to think about it.

Always considered the fourth one more as an extra that a continuation... Also love Mah Jong.

Yeah, I have to speculate it was a combination of factors:

-Some might have been burnt out after 20-30 years of producing smut.
-Internet pirating of games/art/etc reached an all time high and for smaller more niche industries (porn) that had to hurt bad.
-Stricter laws against pornography worldwide (decreasing sell-able markets).
-Game and anime development, as a whole, got more corporate and started cutting quality for quantity (driving away talented artists who wanted to be paid a higher wage for their higher quality art).
-A whole generation (millennials) of horny people who were recently out of college and probably single in the early 2000s had at this point started getting families or joining other active groups reducing the time they could spend fapping.

-Run game in Full Screen on Main Monitor
-Run with Locale Emulator

The game does not work in Windowed mode.

Right click in game window> screen mode.
Alt+Enter also works for most.
It puts the game in full screen mode.

You can get it working in windowed with dgVoodoo2, but it may take some tinkering.

Game already was in full screen for me, so yeah, no improvement.

I forgot to add I also run most of these Japanese games using Locale Emulator, as many require either that or changing Region/Time Zone settings on your computer that require restarts.
