Would anybody actually recommend this game to a total newbie? Is it any good to get a person started in the VN world ;-)

Its a slow burn time sink but with a plethora of sexual content on 'most' of the girls (the companion guide might hell you decide who to prioritise but honestly id still just pick who you like the most) and whilst each girl is different and thus some put out faster than others i would expect to have to work to get their affection. Its designed for you to woo not just instantly access a harem of willing vagina but naturally those who put in the work get the biggest rewards with so many girls and so much content to see on them (with a few more girls added recently to the island staff aka permanent additional girl of top of the ones you personally invite).

Speaking of which id wait for next update to drop (soonish most of us speculate) as a better launch pad but overall the game is fun, simple enough to get the hang of despite being about as far from a visual novel as you can get and most of the girls have garnered hardcore fanbases for good reason. Your prob never gonna see ALL of the content, im not even joking so welcome to Holiday Island, enjoy your stay!

Nobody seems to have commented on the version number jump Darkhound did from 0.3.2 to 0.3.5. Does this indicate this update has four times the content of a normal update? Could be true looking at the long list in the Development News on Patreon, plus the new restaurant and the Ivy rework.

Just my opinion, but I would recommend this game to anyone, regardless of their level. However, I would make sure I had some idea of what they were looking for. Holiday Island isn't for every gameplayer as some are better off spending their time on PornHub. The Introduction on page 6 of the 'Companion Guide' gives a very good description of the game and how it is different from others. Joy, sums it up nicely.

Changing the version will not have an impact on the release date. The release date will be communicated when I know it.
Start of beta testing isn't that far into the future now.

DH seems to be giving the game a major update given new scenes, character enhancements, & quests/achievements. Given all of this I'm more surprised it isn't version 4.0 as opposed to 3.x. None the less it appears to be a wrthwhile release for HI fans.

These last few posts have really stepped up the story line. Please keep it up.

It seems safe to assume the release turned into a milestone as the new role and other changes were added to it over time. So the release number changed to reflect that.

Note. A guess, though I believe it is a reasonable one

That is exactly the point. Non-repeatable scenes that are already done can't be seen again, a save won't help you there. If you want to see what is still to be done look at your phone.

Is the "Unravel Mercedes and Miriam's secrets" quest unfinished?
I did all 3 of the rest (Mercedes's background,Miriam's background, and the thing where you meet Mercedes at the gym about 2:30)
The only one left is the Discover the relationship between Miriam and Mercedes, which i have to talk to joy about,
But it says will be available in one of the next versions
So that one isn't updated yet?

No. It's 4 months since the last version, but the developer is showing some progress in his patreon.
