And news about Natasha's short quest line, not rich in scenes (but, in my opinion, the most mystical and interesting), has come to an end and will not develop, causing only sadness...
Well, when Natasha model has aged out, there's not a whole helluva lot you can do about it!!!! Hope the new one is boobsier?!? There's a thought!!!

Speaking from experience black skin tend to get angry after a certain size.
(Though it is much less with the newer skin mix).

So even with the development towards better skin I find it unlikely Darkhound1 would go +size and thereby risk having a girl that had to be aged out again at some point in the future.

Thinking ahead
There are probably too many active girls (23, bit much for not being a full time job) so it makes sense to think this one step deeper into a retirement/renewal cycle.

Natasha will be retired (fact) and Brenda is not really viable (imo, but overwhelming proof for it).

So it would make sense for the busty newcomer to retire both the old black girls.
A +huge girl (niche) would be unlikely to manage that, but a busty core girl could do it easy.

Having done that trade, a White or Asian ultra (special) becomes a viable future choice.
Strikes me as an all together better deal.

That's a shame about Brenda as she's one of my favourite, but I can understand if Darkhound can't really do much with her or knows where to take her. I would certainly hope that they keep the poolside grinding/teasing scene for another character, but yeah, I can understand the possibility of retiring her.

I don't remember Darkhound speaking about contents removal for the "retired, end of story" girls.

A few observations on my part regarding Daz3D/Daz Studio and the (likely) future of some Holiday Island girls...

First, it is important to note that (if I understand correctly) DarkHound began this little project (with a production team of one, just Darkhound) about 6 years ago or so (or probably longer ago, if we consider initial development of the assets that comprised the first version of Holiday Island that was released into production). This is essentially ages ago in terms of computer tech. Think about the technological changes that have happened over the past 6-7 plus years.

Of course, Daz3D/Daz Studio (DS) is no exception. Genesis (G1) characters are ancient history and aren't really supported by the latest versions of DS. Genesis 2/V4 characters have only very limited support in current DS; Genesis 3 characters have more support and are still viable (but for how much longer?); Genesis 8 is the current character "mature" version, though Daz attempted to transition it to Genesis 8.1 (with only limited success), and is now in the process of replacing it with Genesis 9. The point of this little history discussion is that I believe (and please correct me if I am wrong) some of the early Holiday Island girls were originally created as G2F or V4 characters (though they may have since been converted to G3F) and later additions, I believe, were created in G3F (I don't know if the most recent additions -Daniela, Sara, and Mia- were created in G3F or G8F). Consequently, it is increasingly difficult or maybe impossible to create new content for some of the older girls, given the specifics and nuances of their original design.

This brings me to the topic of certain Holiday Island girls. It is my understanding that when Darkhound, and DuckSwim, and certain other OG posters here talk about an HI girl being "retired", they don't mean that she is going to be deleted from the game; what they seem to mean is that active development of new content or image upgrades for her is coming to an end. Players starting a new game would have all of a "retired" HI girl's existing content still available; there just wouldn't be any new content developed.

I apologize for dumping this text wall on everyone; it just seemed to me that there was some misunderstanding about what an HI girl being "retired" meant, and about why an HI girl might need to be "retired". Hopefully this was more clarifying than confusing.

You were quite clear and insightful to me (not being a graphics guy). I understand the concept of retiring. But at some point existing legacy old pictures will no longer fit the current graphics. They will just look bad. At that point Darkhound will be faced with the choice of leaving in a sore in the eye, or really deleting them. And of course hoping by that time Darkhound will still be interested in the HI project.

Totally agreed. Though Faye is not my fav, I prefer Aly. Nat is easily in my top3.

I have to agree with this. Imo, Yvette and Amy get too much love and from my fav girls (Faye, Natasha, Aly, Alice, Heather and Jessica) only the last one is presented in that list. I'm not complaining though, I know tastes are different.
Your list shows you are a man of culture, sir.

Because that is what creators do. 'We' (General 'we', it is only Darkhound when it is the game) stop using a girl but are rarely "done" with her.

Bit like Cthulhu really, given enough time even that which "killed" her might "die" and she "revive" (usually in a new form)

Holiday Island will call it "Complete"
How do we know that? Well, look into the game\images\intro folder.
Yep, that overlay says complete.

So a retired girl will get a complete tag (and girls can/will be complete at some point)

Genesis 3
The game uses Genesis 3 (G3F).
Some are using much older assets though (Aly being the worst offender there).

There is no functional difference (beyond expressions) between G3F and G8F.
But you are dependent on G8F -> G3 conversions for outfits and hairs, little new is produced to G3F.

AI upscaling will give it a lease of life, already is.
There are limits to it, of course.

I doubt it will become good enough to do crisp 4k from the older renders, so 2560x1440 is the most likely end point for a lot of things (the sheer mass of the Resort making it resistant to being rendered again and again).

I knew that Aly must have originated as a pre-G3F character, which is a pity because she is one of my favorites, but her potential for new content seems to be limited. I suspect the same is the case for Desire (another one of my favorites), and also Jessica (obviously also a favorite).

I agree that G3F and G8F are basically identical, with G8 having slightly better physiology manipulation and expression manipulation, IMO. I create characters in both, though I currently do about 70% G8F to 30% G3F (Haven't adopted G9 yet because there aren't enough available assets yet). G3 -> G8 conversion is pretty easy; G8 -> G3 conversion is a bit trickier, though there are installable DAZ assets that are tools to facilitate it.

Might just be me, but I read what is coming as Part 2.
So the hobby will have left the resort by the time x1440 has become obsolete (something that will take quite some time).

Given enough time there is nothing preventing Part 2 from being able to stand alone.
(Should Darkhound1 still want this as a hobby of course).
I think this is a great way to look at it. IMO, the current location/configuration hasn't quite run its course yet, but it will.

The way I look at it, there are basically two types of content: "plot content" and "color content". The game obviously has lots of color content (and gets more with every update), but contrary to the opinion of some, the game is also obviously about more than just oogling, groping, seducing, and getting some "rumpy pumpy" (thanks, SiJa) with Island girls. As I know you are very well aware, it is also a story with a plot that deals with the gentech operations of HI, Inc. and with the reason the MC is on the island. I suspect that we are somewhere in the middle of the plot, and that there are interesting plot twists to come, which will be contained in future content that will very likely transcend the current island.

Maybe Joy will sell the current island and buy a new-and-improved one (complete with new wonders and surprises), making a move necessary.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Can fully understand that about the niche girls (huge).
Could it be an considerable option to implement some temporary breast expansion mechanics? Like for Natasha, but a bit refined on a newer model?

Technically it can be done and the concept exists in-game.

But that is not the same as it will apply to a specific girl, whether old, new or upcoming.
So option? Yes, but not possible to predict whether it will happen (up to Darkhound1)

My favorite trio is Natasha Faye and Aly - their sexiest topless images decorate my new in-game room.
But if Aly's figure has a little tendency to be overweight (just a little bit that gives her a special charm), and I don't know why (may be she is too shy) but she still hasn't had real penetrating intimacy with MC, then Faye and Natasha are just perfect in all and always win my "best butt"/"wet t-shirt" contests.
When you see any of the three (Natasha, Faye and Aly), only the chorus from the song "A.D.I.D.A.S" by "Korn" band is able to describe in words the emerging emotional state, and the night scenes of Natasha and Faye's visits are the apogee of this game, in my opinion, for which it is worth spending time in the game, and I hope Aly's hot night visit scene also appears someday in the game.
