this game has gone from updates every 3 months to 6 to 9. Its now looking like this game is going to reach the point of having updates 12 months +. The game is just short of a decade old and its still not complete. Not to mention the updates are not getting more content per update as you would expect for the amount of extra time the dev is giving himself. Idk how this game has gone this long without any legitimate criticism. Whats even more insane is that there are the same "mods" from 10 years ago still living on here to this day.
This game with its rabid fanbase and lack of new content is reaching the likes of Summer Time Saga. But at least there are people actually criticizing the game there.
Unless you are a patreon or paying for the game through other means, you have no right to complain about the game not meeting your expectations. Furthermore, if you are not a developer yourself, you have no way of objectively criticising a game since you have no idea what it takes to build and maintain it. Often times, games are easier to update early on with fewer characters and options to navigate the game. As games become more complex with more characters, assets, options, QoL improvements, etc. it takes progressively more time to balance and debug everything in every update.
If you are a patreon of Darkhound, then I suggest you contact him through patreon about your disatisfaction or simply move on to another game. Yes, it can be frustrating that a game you used to like isn't moving as fast or in the direction you would like it to, but developers often move in the direction of the people paying the most money through patreon or other incentives. At least Darkhound provides status updates whereas other developers stop development altogether but string you along as if they are updating the game to farm patreon subs (*cough* Komisari Hero's Harem Guild *cough*). Learn what you are willing or unwilling to pay for and reward what you like. If you just want to play as many free games as possible, you just have to be patient with the content updates and decide to move on when it's no longer worth investing your time.
