Make a copy first, then you might try changing the file extension from .txt to .zip. Changing the name wouldn't be a bad idea either. You're sure to get some warning about changing the extension, but cross your fingers and go ahead and do it. Now you should have something like HolidayIsland5.zip Then see if you can uncompress the newly named file.

Attempted this, didn't work at first. Gave me an error saying it couldn't be extracted. Tried to use 7zip and that ended up extracting something, and the game seems to be running so I'll call it good for now. Thank you for the advice

It's already applied in the android version. In the top left you can pull down a menu and there is the companion mod

I encountered a few bugs that where not yet listed, as far as i could tell:
-Brenda came to my room for cleaning, but she was not on the island. It was 1 or 2 gamedays after i had sent her home.

That's a feature, not a bug!

Actually, the front desk girl tells you that when you send a girl off the island, she will (somehow magically) continue to perform any duties to which she was assigned, but otherwise you won't see her anymore. If you want Brenda completely gone, then just go back to the front desk and have somebody else assigned to do room service.

However, there may be an advantage to having Brenda continue to automagically do your room service for the rest of the week (after which, room service will be randomly reassigned); keeping Brenda assigned to room service frees up whichever other girl you would otherwise assign to it, and that "whichever other girl" would then be available for other things or other interactions during room service hours.

Since several games are affected, and they all are renpy games, odds are you bricked something related to running renpy games, should that be the case you have a pc issue and not a game issue.

What can be done for Holidays Island not starting is this.



1. Read the file that comes with the game, try that first.
2. If that does not work post the log and traceback, then the people trying to help have something to go by.

Assuming Holiday Island uses tts, setting text to speech to No in perferences might work (from top of memory, didn't bother opening the game and testing it, so that's up to anyone who tries it).

Alternatively, if renpy uses the operative systems text to voice, installing a sound control panel that provides access to the voice volume mixer could also work (existed pr default in older windows, need an app in newer ones).

The Companion Mod, found in the Extras section of the original post, will allow you to move the island girls to different locations. When you click on the Companion Mod link in the original post, it will take you to the post where the current Companion Mod file can be found, along with instructions for installing it into the game.

Specific ones, only the lab ai ("Lisa") use tts
The preference option therefore only affects whether those lines are voiced or not.
