Off-topic question, but if anyone wants to reply, I’d appreciate it.
If there were a game set in a completely different universe, with original characters and events, but maintaining the same concept and the same powers (with the same names and functions) as an existing work, would it still violate copyright?
For example, if the powers had the same names and abilities as a famous work but were placed in a completely new story and narrative context, could it still cause legal issues?
Are there specific rules on how much the concept and powers must be modified compared to the original work to avoid copyright infringement?

Parody law protection could apply. But only if you plan on adding silly shit to ur plot. If it's serious, and there's enough similarity for you to be worried, not only would you have potential litigation BS down the road, people would always sneeze RIPPOFF!!!! when they walk by you on the street.

If you don't monetize it, they can't touch you, that's just a fanfic at that point. If you do plan to monetize it, then you have to be careful.
Creating original stories with similar concepts is fine. Using the same names and exact implementations of powers from a copyrighted/trademarked work is risky and likely infringement.

I mean, I still see some creator who does NSFW art using well-known characters from tv series, movies or games doing good renders in Patreon-Suscribestar ot Ko-Fi with no worries. Maybe there will be troubles if someone Directly sell a product based in copyright assets. do I'm right?
