First of all: the recent version of BetterRepack is R9b - it doesn´t make much sense to do all the work for an outdated version.

I always recommend torrent download, it´s the easier way.

Best unpacker for this game is 7-Zip. If extracting errors happens the downloaded file might be corrupted and you have to download again.

Always place the game main folder on top of the drive and avoid unnecessary subfolders.
Start via InitSetting.exe.

The core game functions didn´t improve really, but some base mods were updated and you need these to use newer community mods. Also newest mods are included in the Repack, you need these to use most newest character cards without troubles.

HS2 doesn't have a grass texture hence this map is being shown like this or it could also show as bright pink, if you have ai-shoujo it would load correctly.

looks like a missing texture on an item that had it's color modified using the anim -> color menu
nothing you can do besides trying to find which mod you are missing maybe, but it should tell you in a warning when you load the scene

So does the latest version of better repack have the latest hanmen mods? Because I downloaded some cards that use hanmen mods and they don't look like the card portrait (example: The veins in the portrait aren't visible, but when I load the card they are very visible.) Plus I don't see any of the 4k faces or 8k body types that hanmen next gen skin textures are supposed to have. Do I have to buy if I want the latest?

The BR contains Hanmen Next Gen Skin Shader 1.8.5 (just body and head)
Probably the card you loaded uses ver. 2.0 (standalone male and female body and head, teeth, eyelash, hair, tongue)
Also make sure you are running GraphicMod wih SSS enabled and nice graphic card

My apologies, I cant understand your question.
Just load the scene in the studio and you are done.

If you have the scene data, you have all the power to edit it whether it's other people's scene or yours.
Just make sure you know what you are doing.

how do you get them to play?

There are some ways.
1. Gimmick
2. VNGE
3. Timeline (Im not using this so I dont know how to make one)

You should be able to play the Gimmick scene if you have the latest version of BR studio modpack.
It should be played automatically when you loaded the scene.
You can control the speed in the Animation menu on the top left.

VNGE
VNGE is included in the BR, but not installed. Just search it up.
If the scene contains VNGE's scene, you should find a dialog box saying the scene you loaded contains VNGE data and give you some options.
