Is there an issue with making a spiritual successor?
If the game was balanced like after school tag then no, but they just copied the game and didn't look into how it actually worked.
After school tag is fair and balanced, take for example the piano enemy and the nun succubus in this one.
In after school tag, the music would get louder the closer you are to said piano enemy, with the nun succubus you don't get shit. Hell I only found out that she is limited to the same floor as you via this thread.
Another bad point is that the game just doesn't explain the enemies and how to counter them at all. Night 1 is fine in this regard since none of the enemies are difficult but from night 2 onwards? get fucked. After school tag had notes that would at the bare minimum hint on the weakness of the monster from shining light on them to simply ''run away from them lol''.
It creates a very unfair dynamic, a new enemy is introduced, do i try to flash them? oh it doesn't work there goes 1/3 of my life and good luck getting it back since the red pills are incredibly rare from what i've experienced.
You try hiding from some of them? Too bad, hiding doesn't work on some of them.
Sure some are easily avoidable, for example the catgirl is audio based from what I can tell, any room she is in you can hear purring. The doll one is also easily avoidable if annoying but then there is the painting one.
Flashing works according to the thread but I haven't been successful yet since she just snaps her fingers before anything happens, hiding doesn't work either so your best bet is to outrun her which is annoying if you just got away from one of the monsters.
I also very much so dislike how quickly the battery drains, my guy must be using triple a batteries last used in a 360 controller.
