Hey, folks. I'm the game developer. I haven't really bothered to search the web for discussions of the game anywhere but on itch.io, because honestly, the game just isn't that visible, so I'm only just now seeing this thread. It's a little stale, and I don't usually necropost, but a couple of comments in case someone comes in later:
- There's a walkthrough; it's just disguised as the "achievement guide" and it's downloadable on the itch.io page. Since each ending of the game has its own achievement, telling how to get those achievements is basically the same as a walkthrough. Some of the questions in this thread (for example, "How do you become a ponygirl?" are answered in the walkthrough, so I won't bother here.
- There is a Linux version, which I posted a few days after the initial release. I didn't have a good way to playtest the Linux build (still don't) which is why I didn't release it to begin with. However, a couple of people have tried it and report that it runs.
- Gender is definitely very, very fluid in this game. If you're "I really only want to play as this gender" kind of player--well, I sympathize, but that's just not the way this universe works. This is one reason that Alea (the person wandering through the lobby whose body/shape seems to be unstable) is in the beginning of the game--to change your sex at least once right off the bat. Alea, and Cyndi's scene in the elevator, are what this game has instead of a tutorial. And yeah, Cyndi doesn't play fair, but that's training too--a lot of sequences in the game don't play fair.
- Why have the four playables like they are if their gender's just going to flip a lot? Well, there are other differences in the way they play (not big, but they're there). Besides, they have to start as *something.*
- There is, unfortunately, a certain tendency to wander the hotel trying to figure out what the heck to do next. I went back and revised the hotel portion of the game several times to try to make this better and didn't quite succeed. One difficulty is that there's no real indication when you've made a conversational breakthrough on a couple of important topics, so if you don't go back and talk to certain people again to see if they have any new topics, you get stuck.
I can probably answer any questions anyone has, if anyone comes back to this thread in the future.
