You must make sure that you are playing the exact version supported by the mod, since it's a hardcoded change to the files.
It works for all selling platforms (GOG, Steam, Gamejolt, Epic, Itch), but it has to be the release version it was written for.

I also want to apologize; as was "foreshadowed" a few pages earlier, albeit just jokingly then... I'm more or less "forced" to lay off work on developing my mod now. Why? Because I've recently lost all access to all of my devices, which is actually a pretty big deal because this fucking means YEARS of work are down the drain but okay... anyways, I've kinda recovered by renting what's called a "Shadow PC" (it's a cloud gaming service, I like it so far). It's great, but obviously doesn't replace any lost data.

So... whatever you've got right now, please stick to it. As it stands, I actually cannot update the mod, even if I wanted to, because I have no access to the source code. My apologies. In the meantime, do whatever Nemo56 says man's doing god's work here. I've never seen a person so active on a game so dead.

A upload to github might really have helped or a backup on a external drive, I have a RDX for my most important data besides a GIT server on my NAS. But I guess what's done is done.

ps: I don't think the game is dead, it's just complete ... almost. Still waiting for the content update.

Melon mods are what's called "managed code" so... shouldn't be too hard to reproduce from scratch. Plus it wasn't really that difficult or complicated to pull off in the first place, I still know pretty much everything that I did; if push comes to shove, I'm 99% certain I can just start over. But that's definitely not going to happen anytime before the game is actually "finished" and doesn't receive any more major updates that could potentially break stuff.

You're able to change the color of clothes, hair, eyes and skin of the characters. You can also change clothes but there aren't any new custom clothes other than the pre-existing ones

Custom clothes for HP are very work intensive.
It's for example impossible to put the clothes of one character on another, every char comes with his own set of possible clothes. They most likely won't add what they don't use in the story, that would serve no purpose.
Of course it would be possible to add clothing variation, it's just no big gain.

This has been evident for a long time - work on "Office Party" has been going on for a while now, they make no secret about it.

The thing is: I believe they've gotten way too confident in their belief that "sex sells" while simultaneously attempting to have a game going on for over (how many?) years, completely ignorant of the fact that people can actually grow tired of "same-old" procedures. I myself am quite amazed that this particular "adult pornographic game" lasted as long as it did.

For me personally, this is no different than any Akabur visual novel, or maybe a "Senran Kagura" game with nude patches.

My apologies, I think I got the cause and effect you were describing backwards. I think I assumed you meant they didn’t have Office Party ready, and were thus stretching out House Party content to keep the lights on, where I now think you mean it the other way around, that you believe they’re dragging their feet on Office Party content because House Party is still profitable for less work. I believe what threw me was the comment about the hypothetical person wondering why one wouldn’t start working on a new project when the old one was done, which you admit not even Eek are doing. It seemed to me that you were saying it’s o.k. to work on two projects at once (meaning also work on House Party) in the first half of your comment, and were thus criticizing Eek for not being able to do that (which, to be clear, you just clarified that is not what you meant).

Seems that customization is a hella limited clothing wise for now. but you can also add patterns and custom images on the clothes. To customize your character, just hit new game then the button prompt should be there (again, clothes are really limited and you can't change how your hair looks, etc.).

Yeah, I never bother with alpha or beta. Once they think it's good enough for the public, they'll upload it to the store I bought it from. So I never have to wait for a download here

There was a thing called "unprotected" which is what I had been using for all my mod updates so far (as in: researching where all the function calls go etc.) - so if someone could provide me with a House Party version that was unprotected... meaning: not obfuscated... meaning: whenever none of this "we're fighting the mod developers" shit was happening, I'd grab that and start over right now.
