Thx for all the tips here.. luckily i dont have too many assets, even tho quite some lol, and this wil help me have it more "organized"
Can I ask something stupid. I don't know if this is the right place. I'm tempted to get started with DAZ but I'm afraid my laptop will burn on rendering, it is a Dell Inspiron i7 5667. Should I bother downloding Gig's of data and learn to find out rendering will take hours? or stop just right now.
Looking at the specs of that laptop (if they are the correct ones) say that besides the i7 processor, it has 16gb of ram and an 4gb AMD video card. all three are pretty decent. Tho with the AMD video card, you won't have the Iray render, that is from Nvidia.
Also, the site shows that the HDD is 5400rpm, which is slow.
You can find my renders in some of the fanart threads (tho I didn't make too many), I have an older i7 with 16gb of ram and a 2gb GTX, and a regular HDD. Some of the simpler renders took more than 40mins.
In the end, my advice is that you download a model (or use the ones that come with DAZ) and test your computer out 1st.
There are several users here that can help you out tweaking the render settings for the best result.
IF a simple render with a model, a single color background and some lights take too long for what you expect, then you know to let it go.
