I have in the past and all that happens is I get accused of making stuff up. So the Trolls go to town on it. No proof? Must've never happened. Right? Ri-ight... I can say that Tails of Desire was one of them, but the only thing the current game and the original of that have in common is the face of a couple of characters.
Unfortunately there's always going to be people like that, and lost media tends to draw them like flies to honey. All I can say is I believe you about the games, I've seen a purge during the late 2010s referenced several times, and that lines up with the timeframes where things like the great tumblr and pornhub purges occurred.
no point. I have in the past and all that happens is I get accused of making stuff up. Because those games, as they used to be, or in some cases their very existence can't be proven. No proof? Must've never happened. Right?
Like I said, some people have really obscure shit they don't even realize is obscure, and lost media will forever remain lost unless somebody manages to look in the right place. The best way to find these things is usually to spread the word to as many people as you can, and unfortunately that's going to net you some backlash from certain people, but if you never share the names or details of these things, then they never get found.
I don't expect I'll be able to find much, I'm by no means some lost media wizard (hell, I can't even find any evidence of this one random game with a poorly translated title I played last year, and I still
have that game!), but I'll be damned if I can let anything sit without at least looking. If you don't want to share any further games publicly for potential backlash, that's fine. If you just don't want to share the names at all, that's deeply disappointing, but I'll respect your right to refuse. If you have
any inclination toward sharing any information about these games, I would
massively appreciate it. Even if I don't ever find anything myself, I'd still
love the chance to digging for anything I can find. Basically what I'm asking is that if you have any information about any games that were lost over the years and don't mind somebody else taking a crack at it and potentially being ridiculed by naysayers online, I would love to get a list from you. Whether that be directly, linking an old post/thread where you mention names and/or descriptions, anything.
Unless there's genuinely
nothing to find, and there rarely is, lost media only remains lost so long as people aren't looking for it. I would like to look for it, but I can only do that if I have an idea of what I need to be looking for. If you have any inclination to share the details you know, DM me. I hate the idea of good games remaining lost if there's even so much a a one-in-a-billion-billion chance that somebody knows something about them, and if Reddit can find the physical tape of some random local advertisement run in a small town in the 90's, then I'm sure
somebody has one of those lost games on a hard drive somewhere.
