if there still working on the other game thy need to take off
Abandoned
tag on it
The tag is based on this site's rules - which say it may be applied to any game that's not been updated in 18 months (among other possible conditions). Considering it's around 30 months now since that game was last updated, it more than qualifies for the tag.

When it gets updated in due course, the tag will be removed for the next 18 months or so.

dev posted that that last month was them learning a new engine to make ANOTHER game...

see y'all in 2026 ✌
Correction, the dev is delegating the graphic to another guy, but yes he is making another game(and several written novels or something)

all because "he doesn't want to get burned out" but considering how neglectful he is about both Hypnosis and Endowed, i think he should focus on these two games before he gets burned out from other stuff.

While ideally they'd work full time on a single game (or alternate between the two games) without ever going stale nor burning out, I'd rather they spent time on other projects to recover their enthusiasm for this game than that they grind away at this game until they either can't face it any more and abandon the game permanently after a number of increasingly bad updates, or just half-ass the rest of the game just so they can declare it done...

in "normal situations" i couldn't agree more but believe me if you invested as much time as i did with following this game, you wouldn't say this, because you would know that this is not the case. It's the opposite and in some patreon-posts(usually paywalled) the dev declares how many stories he is writing, and how rarely Hypnosis and Endowed are mentioned.

Well, no need to be subtle - I don't believe he worked more then 3-4 months combined on Hypnosis in last 4 years... there is just no evidence for it. It needs to be said plainly for newcomers to understand. He is a scammer and game will never be finished or progressed in meaningful way. That train has already left.

i don't wanna assume the timeline nor his working-schedule(i'm harsh but avoid to criticize about stuff that i've no evidence of) but still these are the results: Hypnosis got a massive not-canon ending(Broken Watch Ending, it's fun but bloated, but still fun XD) and Endowed barely touched that game's gimmick/main mechanic (pills that enlarges permanently the penis, but give side-effects, because apparently MC's body-fluids cause enlargements in other people's bodies)

For what it's worth, I've been following the game since episode 5 (I have a post about it from mid-January 2020 on another forum). Maybe not putting as much energy into it as some, but playing every update since then.

dev is blatantly a milker (and not the good kind, in this context).
restore her career just released a 4 month update with the same amount of content as this game's last 24 months of updates.

to be fair, Restore Her Career is an absolute shitshow of a game, with no quality, no decent-plot(just a whiny MC who want to fuck, no gimmick or hook), no decent graphic(the oldest and most basic HS2)

I actually like both these games, sure Restore Her Career is mostly about plot and corruption, is it perfect no but more unique and less boring than most games.

I disagree but this is not the place to talk about it, it's not Restore Her Career's thread, and we're already going off-topic(i recall a rule about how it's not allowed to talk about other games in threads that aren't about that game), i'll stop my comment with: i disagree, and if my review is still there, check it, if you want my opinion about it.

Back to Hypnosis:

the dev is focusing on the wrong things, that's pretty much it. Milker or not, he already tainted his reputation, so...that's it.

too many people subscribed
They're only pulling $3,000 a month. And if they want to stop supporting it.... ok? The games are freely available and all paying gets you is a month's early access.

That's just a failure of planning. I am 90% sure they wrote themselves into a corner and have zero ideas on how to proceed since they didn't think about thing like how the plot is supposed to resolve.

maybe. I don't read minds nor i've a pocket watch to hypnotize the dev into giving us a 100% honest answer...so anything is possible here

open a map, randomly pick 3 nations, convert $3k to their native currency and compare to their minimum wage.
It doesn't get you that far in any country where English would be your first language. And it's safe to assume some of this money goes to whoever is helping on the project.

More to the point, if the intention was to squeeze customers, they're not doing a very good job of it. You gotta tease them for about two to four months in between content dumps to hit that sweet spot between making people justify the money and keeping them on the hook without actually providing much.

And it's a moot point anyways because they're giving the game away for free. There's no incentives to invest other than early access for a game that rarely gets updates.

i currently financially support a few devs.
this dev does not deserve support.
So don't financially support them.

The reality is that western eroge developers have a massive incentive to milk paying customers because most westerners get hyper-defensive about not paying for their porn. And you got absolutely no idea when your next project is going to collect the kind of following your current project has. And people will absolutely throw money at projects that do not deserve it. Summertime Saga is pulling anywhere from 76 grand to 200 grand per month. The visual novel is objectively not worth that much money. But people keep paying for it. At that point who's the idiot? The developer for being lazy when he has zero compulsion to operate under professional standards or the customers who keep throwing money at them?

This is something I see a lot of people struggle with around here- the flip side of artisan style project funding is that artist operates at their own pace. Not the one they'd have if they were working at a company that was paying them professional wages and helping fund their retirement and paying their health insurance premiums.
