does anyone have the save file of Crissy sex scene in her home after helping her when school was closed by police? Preferable with all stats maxed out using the walktrough. It keeps crashing me when animation starts and i can't skip this scene
I second that! For some reason the game freezes in that scene

Just published version 0.7.2 on my page.
  • Fixed a number of dialogue typos.
  • Retouched select image frames to improve visual consistency.
  • Resolved bugs affecting UI elements like the map area and menus.
  • Updated dialogue fonts for better readability: main dialogue and inner monologue now have distinct, clearer styles.
  • Rebuilt the Jodie diner bathroom scene (Day 3) as a test of a new format. The scene is now fully narrative driven, removing the previous multiple choice menu. This may become the standard for other intimate scenes in the game.
  • Added opacity slider for the text box UI (thanks to Moonbox).
  • New dialogue font options: choose between comic or pixel styles under settings.
  • Added a new Chrissy school investigation scene (Day 3).
  • Included an experimental Macintosh build. Note: this version is untested and not officially supported yet.
The rebuilt dinner scene with Jodie is much better. I wasn't a fan of how the sex scenes were basically just a bunch of choices on different camera angles, x-ray, etc. especially since it made them all very similar because the girls didn't really do or say much once the scene started.

With the new version, not only does the scene flow much better without having it constantly stop waiting for you to pick an option, but it also does a better job of showing Jodie's personality than the old version did.

It was means for an example for the text issue. But apparently some are skilled issued in understanding that.
Trying to explain away an example that isn't real by deflecting into an veiled insult does seem like a "skilled issued"
Excellent showcase of proofreading abilities too.

I did notice an instance where "MC" was used in place of the name, but overall dialog was acceptable. Scenes seem like a mix of porn logic and someone who watched '80s high school TV/movies more than experienced high school in that era.

Models are great, atmosphere is great, characters are fun, plot hooks are interesting, character writing is good, and the style is great but I do have some issues.
I find that some things progress a little too fast, the sex scenes look nice but the dialogue during them are weak, and I'm not super into the choosing between childhood friend, cousin, or sister at the moment because it kind of skirts around it but cousin seems to be the one that makes the most sense but this is a just a minor one.
I do very much look forward to how this game progresses.

Kinda agree on that. The sex scenes and their build up seem a bit quick. With Jodie the school slut, sure. Same with the girl we helped liquidate her homework from her locker. As well as Savannah. Then again that mostly sells for AVNs.

The Sister/Best Friend could be something if there was bit more build up. Like 2-3 days in we already are doing something?

Why would that be weird? The context for the scene is well established with all the teasing Clarissa has gotten from other girls so it's not like the scene was out of nowhere. Besides, it was a pretty tame and plausible scene. Just a couple horny teenagers experimenting out of a perfectly healthy combination of mutual attraction, curiosity, and peer pressure! :BootyTime:

I don't see anything wrong with the pacing of the sex scenes and I don't see any reason to drag things out just for the sake of dragging things out either.

That one had proper build up, but maybe the park scene could have went a little longer. The main issue with that scene was her complete lack of sex education because she should still know how basic male anatomy works.

I mean... sure... But same time though, I don't think her focus on dicks is her main past time. She's more focused on her basketball team, so I'll give her a bit of leeway.

Nice so far. Really like the style, even if it does produce the odd wonky moment.

Of course, the version stops right when it seems the main meat (or blood, I suppose) of the story begins so I'll refrain from being too optimistic until I know how that is handled.

I do think that the writing is often a bit rushed and jumping around. On one hand, I get it, keep things moving. But on the other hand, even if it'd mean scenes used repeated visuals, I'd think some more lines here or there would really help with the storytelling.

But yeah. It's pretty okay as is too.

Fatalmasterpiece, I have found two places in the text where =+1 is used instead of +=1 with a variable. So that instead of incrementing the variable, it sets it back to 1.

The first is on line 7982 of script.rpy for the variable mssmith_points.

The second is on line 9676 of script.rpy for the variable bravery_points.

On a more positive note, this has quickly become one of my favorite games. All the characters are first-rate and well-developed. Looking forward with eagerness to see how your game progresses.

Hey everyone. Here’s an exclusive look at my roadmap for developing I Was a Teenage Vampire. The story is getting deeper, the nights are getting bloodier, and MC finally found a job... but has he found love? Here’s what’s coming next.

This offers some insight into what to expect with development, and why your support here on Patreon means everything in helping me bring it to life. Releases are planned based on days as they happen in game, within the story itself. This allows me to catch up on creating the artwork for the script I have written.

What’s Next: Upcoming Releases

Version 0.7.5 – Scheduled for late June

  • New scenes for Thursday evening (Day 4) before where the game currently ends.
  • Expanded content for Lorie, Astrid, and the mysterious pizza subplot. There is also a new scene at the very end of the night...
  • Additional polish, dialogue tweaks, and continuity fixes
  • Currently, animation loading is laggy. Working on fixing this asap.
  • Note: This version may include subtle rewrites or make changes to existing scenes. Expect a few surprises.
Versions 0.7.X
Reserved for hotfixes, UI enhancements, and minor quality of life updates.

Version 0.8 – Targeting mid-summer

  • Day 5 (Friday) of the story begins
  • Deeper reactions from love interests following Day 4’s events
  • New scenes, dialogue options, and relationship progression
  • Further adusts all current romance arcs
Version 0.9 - Autumn 2025
  • Day 6 (Saturday) is going to be awesome, with some of the biggest events yet happening in the story's script. I can't wait for this one to be released.
The Big Picture: Chapter Structure

My plan in releasing IWATV, has been for Chapter 1 to span seven in game days, with major branching paths and slight ending variations based on relationship affinity and your choices.
Version 1.0 will wrap up Chapter 1’s story, resolving key mysteries while opening the door to new threats and deeper character conflicts. In some ways, Chapter 1 is a prologue for a bigger story that is told in Chapter 2.
Chapter 2 will begin some time next year, after Version 1.0 is released. It's already outlined and in pre-production. It will:

  • Raise the supernatural stakes
  • Explore certain factions' true roles in Silver Lake
  • Deepen relationships, stir old secrets, and introduce new temptations
  • Be as long or longer than Chapter 1
Why Scenes Change: the process

I treat the story like a film script, editing as needed, with previous builds acting like a pre-screening test of a movie. Some of you long time players already know this, but it’s worth repeating:

  • Builds sometimes contain soft previews, unfinished scenes used to test ideas or pacing
  • Red herrings and narrative twists are intentional
  • Versions 0.7.5 and 0.8 will include recontextualized moments, added subtext, or newly revealed connections
  • Some scenes may even be temporarily cut and re-added later once they fit more naturally.
Your save files are safe. But your assumptions? Not so much.

Cut Content and Restoration Plans

When the game moved from Unity to Ren'Py, some content had to be cut simply because it no longer fit the format. That includes:

  • Ron the Janitor
  • Jamal the Librarian
  • Random characters around town
  • Various unused interactions at MC’s house, the library, and around town like the police station, city hall, downtown etc.
Rather than abandon these ideas, I plan to reintroduce them along with the main plot as they fit and development allows.

Music, Steam, and the Future

Original Soundtrack

The title track, “Here In The Dark”, is just the beginning.
I’ve written more original music that will be added when the right story moments come along.

Longterm goal: release the full soundtrack on Spotify and maybe even physical formats.

Steam Release?
Yes… eventually. Steam’s adult game approval process is extremely strict and may require edits, renaming, or other minor compromises to small details to fit within their rules. I’m committed to keeping the full experience intact, so walking that line takes careful planning.
The goal is to release Version 1.0 on Steam, but Patreon supporters will always have access to the complete version, as intended.

Thank You – This Is a Solo Passion Project
IWATV is made entirely by one person, that’s me.
Every line of code, every render, every music cue, and every story beat is built with your support.

Thanks to you, this story is actually happening. So stay with me, while we follow Clarissa, Savannah, Lorie, and everyone else, down the strange, romantic, bloody road that leads to how I became a teenage vampire.

Thoughts so far after few minutes of play.

I love world build and consistency, it looks as real-like as it can be and I really feel '89 vibe/style. There are no weird looking stuff like in most AVN, put in there just because it was free 3D model even if it has no sense at all. Town's Hall clock was clear to me it's from "Back to the future" even before he said so, then we have iconic Audi Quattro (which is beautiful) and it's driver wearing DIK's jacket. So far I love that dev is not afraid to put in there some obvious "easter eggs" or real-life objects, you really need to think things through to do it like that. Intro was also top notch, it felt like start one of those great indie games you sometimes find on Steam. So far so good, hopefully it will say like that.

I'm usually really chill and patient, happily enjoying it whenever it comes, but fuck me if this isn't the one game... Really can't wait:eek::love:!

I have to say that, based on the previews I wasn't particularly convinced by the game's graphic style, but once I tried it firsthand I had to change my mind. It really looks great, even though shots with distant subjects can sometimes result in some early-AI-style oddities, but those are rare and not that important for the final impression.

As for the rest, I loved the setting! I don't have much experience with 80s school-themed movies, but it felt like a breath of fresh air, especially thanks to the dialogue full of now-outdated colloquial expressions and words.

The characters are very formulaic, almost stereotypical, but in my opinion they work really well with the setting, so I don’t have much to complain about there. I hope there will be room for more introspection though. The size of the cast worries me a bit, since it’s easy to go wide without going deep, but the amount of development Savannah gets gives me good vibes in that regard. The way the relationship with Clarissa is handled feels a bit confusing, I think it could use more context before the choice.

The game ends just as things get really interesting, and I can’t wait to see where the story is headed. So far, I’ve been genuinely impressed with the game.
