This is a pet peeve of mine and it feels like I am an absolute minority, as most great chara creators go with "Type 01". But I swear, that dithering effect alone starts driving you mad after a while. I kept wanting to make this post for over six month now, but always self-censored. Just got a card off Discord and finally snapped; probably due to a grey rainy day.

Random Character I made while experimenting

Green Background is SSS and uses Shader 2.0

Pink Background is DHH and is mod free ( As far as I can tell )

Outfit uses some custom overlays nothing special but included anyway.

But after a closer examination I definitely NOT agree.

Compare my screenshots with a hair of good quality

As easily recognizable renderer 01 shows a finer resolution especially in hair tips and single hair strands. Renderer 02 is more blocky in this areas.

So my final resolve: it´s good as it is............

Hi! I've just discovered this site. I'm new with all of these.

Can someone tell me the difference between Clothes Overlays and Costume cards?

Seen you wasn´t answered yet.
Overlays are extra textures can be loaded over a clothing or skin. You load them from a folder "Overlays" in UserData.


"Costume cards" are called here "Coordinate", a card that usually includes a full set of clothing (Tops, Bottom, Socks, Shoes....).
Stored in UserData/coordinate


These clothing parts are equipped in character creator --> Outfit.
Unfortunately the thumbnails to chose an outfit are not always an exact image from the belonging clothing part

Download the newest better repack (its 8.1 btw) then run init settings update and grab the sideloader stuff

, for the game only u need to download this one [ScrewThisNoise] HoneySelect 2 DX BetterRepack R8.1.7z (46.9 GiB).

After download look at this nice guide from Sykosis https://f95zone.to/threads/illusion...lect-2-card-sharing-thread.44248/post-7876189. You can follow this also for your R4.01 instead of R8.

Furthermore don´t forget to place your game main folder as near as possible to the top of the drive to avoid long file pathes, and keep your old R4.01 as Backup (if u have enough drive space) for a while, til your new R8.1 is running well.
