In my opinion, in the "green route" Cass was supposed to be our main ally in the matter, but he goes once with Elin to see the rebels and never with Cass... The MC doesn't even talk to her once to discuss anything he learned and yet out of nowhere she arrives with an elaborate and made plan... I would like it to seem like we are playing together, but it just seems like we are her pawns...

But the part that I found strangest is, the MC arrives in the land of the "king's assassin" and has to be simply alone without being able to have any security by his side, and everyone is talking as if nothing had happened, I know they have their own problems to solve, but most of them seem to think it is just "childish tantrums" and don't even take it very seriously and simply ignore the king's son who was literally "assassinated" "by one of them"...
I agree it is super strange to go into the feuding assassins's land with no guards or additional help. The only reasoning I can see is they needed to keep some soldiers at the castle in case of an attack. And depending on your choices they could have been recovering from fighting Cass's forces. And if you sided with Cass I was surprised she went in alone. She has almost zero shot at surviving any confrontation without the MC's help.

So I feel safe pretending to be her pawn cause the danger from her is quite low when compared to the strength of the mom and potentially Elin if they went rogue.

an annoying as fuck "stepsister" which holds a dagger at the mc's throat everytime ...
forced marriage (?) incoming ...
everyone is spying/lying ...
(and i cant make any sense of the (1st) coucil meeting - except cass on the kings seat - a foreshadowing?!)

thats the canon of the game?

MC kinda gets on my nerves sometimes. He acts like a Horny Ape and the girls always act like they don't want sex "But they do" well it's that way with Elin anyways and it's getting old after the first time or 2. I was hoping for more romance. He was acting this way at the beginning but i thought "oh well" Character progression maybe he won't be like that later in story and he sorta did get better but the last few chapters seems like he reverted back to being Horny Ape again. I'm almost at the point of letting Lockheart have Elin if she's going to act like that.

Thanks for the update. The update this time around felt like an interregnum in the main Western civil war plot. Mixing in the Elf sideplot and introducing more of the maternal family was definitely a good idea. Banging Josephine was a 10/10 scene, I wish we can revisit Valeria and 'do her' the justice a milf like her deserves.

I feel like an otome isekai Female Lead doing a time rewind of their marriage. You have to stay long enough for your kids to be born. Lazy Monkey has me by the balls after that future vision of the daughters.

It's gonna suck to have my throat slit by my wife Isis but atleast my daughter will avenge me. :HideThePain:

Well, reached the end of this update & found that the summary screen does not reflect our choices correctly.
I chose the castle tour with Valeria & at the end it tells me that I did not.
Then I went back through & turned it down & at the end it tells me that I accepted it.
WTF?

MC also appears to have miraculously learned Elvish in half an update.
At the start of 0.8 he didn't know more than a few words, they even speak "common" so that he & Elin can understand.
But by the end he's absolutely fluent & understands every single word they say.
There a fix for the castle tour bug at https://f95zone.to/threads/imperial-chronicles-v0-8-lazy-monkey.175608/post-16351361

Yeah I already got to that part. I'm just hoping it's not something that set in stone or that she wasn't talking about herself and is just a red herring. I personally can't see why she'd want to get rid of the mc anyway. She already said she wants him to be emperor so assassinating him seem counterintuitive. I mean the visions are supposed to be intentionally vague.

I almost asked... but I searched instead... And the answer to my question is why so many of that question gets asked...
Non-British players (aka Americans) will likely never even notice the British Flag on the bottom left... Nor will they likely associate it with switching the language to English.

I literally installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, and reinstalled with the patches... And then I searched the various postings on how to switch to English.

LOL... Not alone, based on the many requests.

Oh - and if the click on the British Flag does not work the first few times, hit MAIN MENU and click it a minimum of 3 times to switch to English. It took multiple attempts to get it to switch for me.

It's all good now, tyvm. LOL

a couple of quick questions (mostly because im a lazy ass and i don't want to make another playthrough) how many branches there are once you get to the possible coup with Cass? is that a forced event even if you don't team up with her? and it's the general vibe of the story just Cass vs every other character or there is a more neutral path to take?

If you don't kill Cath at the Tavern the coup happens no matter what. If you say no to Cath initially she'll lock you in jail and then ask you again.

From what I understand there is the Green king path, which is what happens when you either side with Cath either when she initially offers or when she asks you later in prison. There is the Red king path which is what happens if you side with side with Cath and then have Isis poison her, then there is the White king path where you reject her deal all together and break out of jail and eventually get supports to stop her coup. There is no way to stop the coup from happening all together. I only really been playing the Red path and the Green path and haven't noticed any difference in Chapter 0.8 other than Cath is gone from all the scenes on the route where Isis kills her.
so, there is no neutral path between the family members, you either go with cath and mom/elin don't trust you or you kill cath

I am sorry to bother, but may I ask what are all the ways you can achieve the Red Coronation? Can I do it without siding with Cass at all? I tried to find out through the thread, but it seems there are several conflicting answers. I would be so grateful for any help.

Path 1: Mage or Warrior, side on Cass's conspiracy, agreed with Callahan's proposal.
Path 2: Political marriage with Isis, in prison agreed with Cass's proposal, later agreed with Isis.
According to my subjective impressions, both paths are bad for MC:

Imo the best family oriented good path is
  • Refuse Cass coup
  • Do not kill Cass
  • (Cass does the coup and imprisons you)
  • Refuse Cass' offer while imprisoned
  • (you escape, join the rebel nobles and overthrow Cass)
  • Refuse to execute Cass
  • Tell her you can fix her

There are 3 ways, all of which require Cass to die.

1) Kill her if you refuse initial offer.
2) Kill her if you betray her by siding with Callahan.
3) Let Isis kill her.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. If you don't mind can I follow up with a question? What is Callahan's proposal exactly? I don't have a save to check. I don't mind spoilers obviously. I am curious what he offers/demands.
