If you don't kill Cath at the Tavern the coup happens no matter what. If you say no to Cath initially she'll lock you in jail and then ask you again.

From what I understand there is the Green king path, which is what happens when you either side with Cath either when she initially offers or when she asks you later in prison. There is the Red king path which is what happens if you side with side with Cath and then have Isis poison her, then there is the White king path where you reject her deal all together and break out of jail and eventually get supports to stop her coup. There is no way to stop the coup from happening all together. I only really been playing the Red path and the Green path and haven't noticed any difference in Chapter 0.8 other than Cath is gone from all the scenes on the route where Isis kills her.
so, there is no neutral path between the family members, you either go with cath and mom/elin don't trust you or you kill cath

I am sorry to bother, but may I ask what are all the ways you can achieve the Red Coronation? Can I do it without siding with Cass at all? I tried to find out through the thread, but it seems there are several conflicting answers. I would be so grateful for any help.

Path 1: Mage or Warrior, side on Cass's conspiracy, agreed with Callahan's proposal.
Path 2: Political marriage with Isis, in prison agreed with Cass's proposal, later agreed with Isis.
According to my subjective impressions, both paths are bad for MC:

Imo the best family oriented good path is
  • Refuse Cass coup
  • Do not kill Cass
  • (Cass does the coup and imprisons you)
  • Refuse Cass' offer while imprisoned
  • (you escape, join the rebel nobles and overthrow Cass)
  • Refuse to execute Cass
  • Tell her you can fix her

There are 3 ways, all of which require Cass to die.

1) Kill her if you refuse initial offer.
2) Kill her if you betray her by siding with Callahan.
3) Let Isis kill her.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. If you don't mind can I follow up with a question? What is Callahan's proposal exactly? I don't have a save to check. I don't mind spoilers obviously. I am curious what he offers/demands.

My Elis assessing who he should support in order to make sure Lockhart dies in all the paths

No matter the outcome a political alliance with the West is useless. So I'm taking my sister back!
Seriously? I had a better plan in mind: grant a political pardon to his mother, and cuckold him by fucking his wife and the woman who gave birth to him in this wretched world just so he could become a doubly qualified cuckold.

Wait... you mean that wasnt already the planned 'canon' path?

I mean, why *else* would you have the option to spare the mother and bring her with you?

I am aware that the plot for 0.9 is already bounded but if there is any chance give us another go at Valeria she can get it the proper furniture breaking way this time :sneaky:

I can't figure out if it's best to side with Cass or escape during the Coup. I take it she's not the one who did the poisoning....
I just can't figure out if she was genuinely acting for the good of the kingdom and trying to find the poisoner...

She already knows who is the poisoner, probably gave her the poison herself. :KEK:

The good of the kingdom couldn't be further from her goals, but at least she's doing some good to the empire.

On the "White" routes, it seems that there will be three main approaches to handling the West:
  • Support the Nobles: The West remains a feudal society under the rule of the new Golden Empire.
  • Support the Rebels: The West transitions into a republic, negotiating an agreement that grants them some autonomy while still remaining under imperial control.
  • Enforce a Truce: A compromise is reached where the nobles retain power, but some rights are granted to the people, potentially forming a Merchant-Aristocratic Republic similar to the system that there is in the North. This option may be the most strategic, as it minimizes bloodshed and preserves both troops and population, which could be crucial for the empire’s future.
On the "Green" and "Red" routes i am still unsure if the options to "Enforce a Truce" or "Support the Nobles" will be available, i think maybe not.
