(y) If anyone deserves more support, it’s Lazy Monkey, maybe the best AVN dev ever. Quality renders, superb writing, and true diligence, no milking bs. He literally realeses the game for free, the quaility of the game speaks for it self.
Patreon only 2$ per month, and Boosty even cheaper. First dev i've ever subbed for

For the amount of Patreon supporter that he has and the time that he takes to push out an update ? absolutely is quality renders. Each render has actual frame composition, each locale is unique, the outfits are great and even side characters designs are top tier.

I'll take this kind renders over the billion year that someone like Ocean takes for Summer's Gone for "quality renders".

I've personally never thought the renders were bad. Like someone else said I've seen some games with better renders sure, but it's not like these renders are below average or anything
I play these games with the compressed version on my phone with JoiPlay.

Super high fidelity 4K+ renders would be wasted on me anyways.

What matters more are the scenes and the character designs, of which both are perfectly fine.

Yeah, the english ML translation that LM uses just doesn't cut it. I've started a project to rework the entire English translation (and the first 2 chapters are already done!), but my main project got picked up again, so that is on hold for the foreseeable future.

Agreed. LM is "only" rendering in 1080p, but they are still very good. Especially considering the timeline in which he makes them. Obviously, a game like Summer's Gone will have prettier renders, but they also take 2 years to materialize - fuck that.

I'd never say the renders in this game were badConsidering LM's update speed, the game’s visuals are perfectly acceptable. But personally, I wouldn't classify 'quality renders' as one of this game's strengths.

Eh, it's really important to be clear what one means with render quality:
  • There's the quality of the renders as the visual art component of the game - everything including art direction, lighting direction, staging, the content of the renders etc. Which is good, yeah, at least to me (beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all).
  • And then there's the technical quality of the renders - and even on a 1080p monitor there's quite a bit of obvious noise, occasional lighting errors (probably due to compositing instead of re-rendering the whole scene), etc. Not because LM is bad at it, but because avoiding those would require either a lot more time, more and better hardware, or both. They're definitely functional and ok considering the speed and other constraints (and definitely preferable over "better" renders in updates that took 4 times as long), but calling the technical rendering quality good... would be stretching it a biiit to far :ROFLMAO:.

Depends on what you define as quality renders. Quality renders do not mean the best in the world to me. It just means they're at least decent. To me saying the renders aren't quality is saying the renders are bad

That makes sense 。The settings, character models, and costume design in Imperial Chronicles are absolutely top-tier – though it would be even more perfect if the visuals were sharper and less blurry. As for trading speed for quality, that ultimately comes down to personal preference, different strokes for different folks

After all, there's considerable gray area between good and bad.

Funny story – I came this close to narrowly miss Imperial Chronicles because of the mediocre rendering in its preview screenshots , until a friend's rave review convinced me not to miss this true gem

They be campin' like this in forum(s) for 30 min updates with 2 year intervals (highly questionable)
