Yep this felt off to me as well. It seemed like the MC saw her complete lack of self-esteem and wanted to show her that he actually did think she was attractive. But yeah, it escalated real fast.

Could be he's just getting a lot more confident and straightforward sexually because of all the time he spends with his "slaves" and his sudden promotion to Duke. At least he took no for an answer when she objected to sex.

Wasn't just the escalation for me but the dialogue. I can't speak much to the ruthless path. But I can't recall a time thus far where the Duke promotion has really gone to his head. To result in the way that scene played out. It also reads a lot closer to ruthless than compassion, even with him not pushing the sex thing. Whole inner monologue beforehand read like romance, romance, romance moment, until the scene came in and said nope!

I mean I ain't made it to the end yet, so maybe it happens again. So if other scenes with other girls play out like that, then fair enough. I mean it is what it is. But just currently seems random.

I just ran across this too. Looks like there are old variable names in character_details.rpy. Changing the fu_kiss (and the other fu_* vars) to se_kiss (se_*) seems to fix it. See 02_define.rpy for the right names.

Yeah agreed I love big updates like this one. And have seen some games with yearly updates get smaller ones, much smaller in some cases. There are some others though that do give nice meaty updates like this and I always appreciate it.

I just thought about it. It would be kek. If goddess, i guess it is chaotic Gaia of Nature this time, messing round, brings princess with MC back to his world. Especially if Regina was tortured and raped. Gotta a lot explaining to do. Ehehe

I also guess, it was actually Gaia, who got bored their idyllic world and started to messing around. Trickster goddess twisting underworld and fucksup mortal plane, and still counts as good one, while Inanna goes to "baddie"

It was Gaia who distracted Inanna and given a push to THAT necromant, and then made an elves, and then made a demons in underworld and then corrupted elves by shady prophecies and proxies. And then cursed Princess of Man by stripping her magic gift.

Gaia is a pixie, chaotic trickster-goddess of Nature.

Buut, it can also just be series of unfortunate events... we'll see.

Alrighty now that I've slowly made my way further into the game. I gotta say that Manon bath scene was weird. It just escalated out of nowhere.

Idk, I didn't think it that strange. That specific dialogue is a bit too pushy imo. But overall it kind of makes sense.
Since he's escaped he's had girls throwing themselves at him at pretty much every turn. It makes sense that he would get more forward. It's not out of nowhere either, if you consider how he acts during the soma examination.
And there's been a good number of hints that Manon is attracted to him. And during the conversation she revealed that she is way to self conscious to ever really just take his word that he finds her attractive too.
I for one prefer that to an mc who's completely oblivious to every way too obvious hint and stays that way despite hordes of girls throwing themselves at him at every turn.

But you're missing the key point of why I said what I said. It's right in my comment but I'll outline it.

Because it sure as sunshine ain't how I been playing. This some ruthless leaning dialogue as default.

If it was a choice to be made. I wouldn't have said anything. It would indeed not be strange.... if you were playing as a ruthless character. If you're not going down that route.... it is weird. It was out of nowhere. Because that situation did not in any way, shape, or form. Look or read like that's the way it was going. Even with your example of the soma (which I'm pretty sure was the whole maid thing right ? My memory is ass. But I'm just gonna roll with it.) He did nothing out of the ordinary until! the very end, where you had the choice of drinking from the tap. Otherwise that entire series of events was normal.

And before anyone gets confuzzled about this. I ain't saying it's bad, horrible, or a pearly clucthin moment. I was just saying it's weird.

Btw, the "drink from the tap" choice was oddly placed. MC had no way of knowing that he's enjoy that girl's milk in particular. If he had gone for it and thought the milk was shit, the girl would've been even more hurt than the previous ones.

Easy fix to that is either having him drink a little from the cup beforehand and then going for the "tap", or at least put something in the text that goes "something within him felt right when he looked at the vampire. For some reason, he knew that she'd be the one".

It's still a bit iffy but that can be justified and theorized in different ways, like Inanna's blessing "resonating" with the girl or whatever.

But it's not that big of a deal at the end of the day, so whatever. I'm just being a little nitpicky.

That choice isn't there because he thinks he'll like her milk. It's because she looks just like Emilie from AlwaysFan, who he's a big fan of. So it makes sense he'd want to suck on her nipples, she's a carbon copy of a celebrity he's had a thing for.

It was a different kind of thirst at play, not one for milk.

That he ended up liking hers was just a happy accident

I agree with you that it was weird and comes off too strong. But I disagree that it was out of nowhere.
The whole conversation they had before that was basically a back and forth of mc telling her that she's attractive and her not believing him and putting herself down. With both of them being naked in the bath, mc showing her his erection to 'prove it' is kind of a natural next step. (You know in the porn logic kind of way, not irl obviously).
There could have been a better, softer way of doing it than just shoving it in her face though. But I did not mind that much because I guessed pretty early that that's where the scene was going.
And for the record, I'm playing a full compassion playthrough. I haven't touched the ruthless choices.

Finished the update and liked it very much, didn't had as much problems with it as many people here had (and don't agree with most of them, but whatever - also, I'm just trying to not think about MC outfit ). If something felt little unnatural for me it would be forgiveness to the princess, kind of went too fast. Still don't like that you get mindset points during the sex, liked the AF system better. Kayane starting to be my new fav character. Overall, it was worth the wait but still hope that next update will take little less time. My top 5 VN here right now for sure, keep up the good work!
