Yeah.... the paywall is a very bad choice.
Ofc you need to make a living we all get that.

Honestly one of the dumbest decisions you can do is to do shit like this cause not only do you turn away potential supporters especially the ones that stick for a long time.
I'd never support anyone doing shit like this the only western developers I've ever supported are the ones that care for their supporters/potential supporters and put alotta work and passion into their shit sadly that's insanely rare with western adult games.

Since you seem to be active on F95 and use it as advertising for your game this just makes it even dumber of a choice, what a blunder.
Then again this is a website founded and based on piracy at it's very core, there will be a hero it's just a matter of a time.
So you paywalling your shit is just fucking you in the end honestly, just my honest take.

Man, you're literally the game dev, and you're here talking sh*t along with my haters lol. Are you okay?
Just cause im a dev doesnt mean i cant spot a bad business move brother. My updates are 1.5-2 hours of play. And i make no money. My games donation for ealry access and free public. I have seen devs do what you are doing and it ends poorly. Im just saying.

Hmm? Did this get updated again? Did they remove the paywall? The last update just removed the content so I'd deleted it... If we're not getting anything to enjoy anymore i'm just going to ignore the thread this time.

17MOONKEYS I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Raising a kid on ~25K/yr in a high cost-of-living state like California sounds like a real nightmare and I can understand why you are desperately trying to increase your income.

However I think that introducing a paywall to your game will have a negative impact on your income in the long-term due to the community backlash. I'm fairly confident that if you keep it up then within 6 months your game will have a bunch of 1-star reviews along the lines of "h scenes are paywalled, don't bother".

My suggestion is you should eliminate the paywalls and consider adding new subscriber tiers where you offer benefits like "1 custom render per month" as a basic tier and "5 custom renders or 1 custom animation per month" as a premium tier. And you should make a public post on your SubscribeStar explaining your financial situation and your motivation for this change, and advertise the new tiers in your game. This way people are both aware of your tough financial situation and will be incentivized to support you because they will receive something on a monthly basis for supporting you.
I get your logic, but it doesn't work that way. People won't pay if they don't have to. Nobody gives a damn about my problems, and that’s fine.

You know the developers I love to support. Those who engage with the community, deliver content, and do a good job. It doesn't have to be perfect. You just have to try.

It's not difficult. It just requires some work. Work that earns YOU money.

Not willing to put in the work? Then fuck off.

--------------------------

But, it's not too late. You have a good premise for a story and game. You just have to take it seriously. Don't be looking at the support figures. Just do the work you love. Get stuck in and deliver content. The support will follow.

The adult game market is huge. But the community does not like bad actors.

I promise you 17MOONKEYS The first sign that I see of you ramping up production and taking development more seriously. I'll be a supporter. As I'm sure many others will too.

But not until then.

This industry is rife with bad actors just looking for a quick buck.

When we get invested in a good story like yours, we can feel like we've been taken for a ride by yet another bad actor.

Prove us wrong. Do an awesome job.

The community can smell a passion project a mile away and will dump some cash. Many devs forget this. These days even basic open dev communication is paywalled on patreon. Its sad.

Yeah, there's a couple of devs that just create a game, because they wana do it. They release it here, for free, with no means to make money. And you will see people even here on this pirate site, asking for a way to support them because the people like what they're doing.

They might just get a few hundred a month, but that's money they were not asking for or expecting, it was given because it was deserved.

People can shit on this community because of the pirate aspect. But, I would argue the opposite. Piracy will happen even if this site didn't exist. But this community, unlike others, actually wants to support the developers, and it's a great marketing tool.

Very well said, this game had potential, but after last update I was disappoited and trashed it, saying to myself, another one bites the dust. To the dev, nobody wants to hear your problems, 6they just sound like excuses as to why you cant do something unless its half assed attempt, nobody in their right mind is going to support that work ethic

Any changes to the early part or story / intro ? Do they still fast-forward in the first scene, ruining the build-up / teasing?

Make the doll force them into situations - the characters can't be "okay" with the kink, it ruins it. The MC needs to feel schocked, then conflicted, and forced into situations cause of the horror / supernatural elements.

The corruption genre is popular for a reason.

I was the same, before engaging.

Gona give it a last chance, watch for the next release, and judge then.
