Yo, chill. Napalm12 and Druus, the game isn't dead; it's just on a very long hiatus for one very simple reason: the creator, Fallen Eros, is a money-grabbing arsehole. He wants to keep the paying patrons on the hook for as many months as he can, so he deliberately takes his time with updates and makes it so they don't have much content, but his newest strategy, according to the Patreon, is to release a new game and plan to only work on that for the next few months until it is at version 0.3, then come back to this game, all the while still raking in the profits from new and old Patreon subscribers.

ehhh i wouldnt say fallen is being malicious or trying to milk it
If your business model is a subscription, then not putting out content seems like a bad business model
im sure netflix keeps putting out new shows for a reason
if your target was effort to money ratio, sure
if your target was maximum income, then your going to want to keep making content
less content = less retention and less new customers = less munni
if i had to make a theory
i think when something is a passion project, its easier to work on
maybe hes less passionate about the main game or unsure how to end it since different people want different things
but the new stories have alot more freedom in terms of where they can go, and hes probably more passionate about it
backend stuff can also take some time, updating DRM systems, or more complicated gameplay mechanics to later use.

Eh, yes and no. I won't make claims about any actual malice, but there's definitely purposeful milking going on. It happens with the majority of Patreon funded porn games that end up getting a lot of support. The Netflix example isn't appropriate here, because the two systems work differently. With Netflix and streaming in general you're paying for a continuous access that stops the moment you stop your subscription. Meaning, you can only enjoy the content you're paying for as long as you're still paying. With Patreon you can download the game for yourself and then keep playing it regardless of whether you're still subbed, you only lose access to any potential future updates when you stop paying. So, if a game finishes and you're not interested in what the dev is doing next, there is no incentive to keep paying. That makes it tempting for Patreon porn game devs to stretch out the remaining content (smaller updates with longer waiting time between them) and to delay crossing the finish line for as long as possible ("haha whoops I just happened to start a new game just before finishing the last couple of routes").
This pattern is really common and I'm not saying I'm mad at Fallen, just disappointed that he would become like this as well.

this isnt netflix, patreon "devs" actually thrive on delivering less content for a longer timespan once they have a amassed a decent cowbase to milk from
they try to stretch out update times as long as posible because they retain subs with the "oh, but i want to see what happens in next update", that's why they avoid finishing games, because subs might simply not be interested in the next project
he's now taking it to the next step, which is DarkCookie's level, 1 update in 6 months or more, cuz people gotta be very naive if they think they gonna see any Hana before something like, July
He should complete the first game first. I've been waiting for the next onsen revenge update but instead he is working on the new game.
Unless his patreons start dropping him, he'll just carry on lime this with unfinished games.

That's the problem with devs, when they change their game to much from what was planned. Remember this game was supposed a wholesome Netorase game. Would he have stick to that he could completed this game easily by now maybe even with Hanas POV.
