And how should that even be possible with Dob3d being mia since years? The models are quite customized, and without infos/help from the developer probably not that easy to redo.

I can think of a couple of reasons:

1) They might not know how to code using Ren'Py
2) The risk of turning Inertia into a cocksock and discarding the boss and Tenika story arcs
3) Modelling and pose work
4) The risk of losing interest due to workload involved
5) Obvious writing quality differences

Unfortunately I have zero understanding on how to code, I don't have the time/materials to render or make models, nor do I have the knowledge on how to do both those things, I work 2 full time jobs and just want to be able to come home and just faplax.
